would consider it a race exhaust. Very loud.

I appreciate the reply, I was looking for something more like 2.5 inches mandrel bent, but thats not to say I am not still interested. Will this bolt up to a stock 14b?

at the moment i have a bone stock car, and was hoping to add an intake and exhaust and raise the boost to about 15 psi.

By the time I am done modding my car I want a street driven car that pushes 22ish pounds on race gas on a saturday night, and then back to a more mild 15 for the rest of the week.

Where do you think this exhaust will fit in with this picture, Is it ridiculousy big for 15lbs of boost? Is it overkill even for 22 lbs?

When you say loud? HOW LOUD? Is it like an ear bleeding civic farty loud, or is it more rumbly?

If i was sitting in the car DRIVING @ 2500 rpm, could I talk to the person next to me without shouting?

Thanks

P.S. Do you have an EVO 3 16G too? Did this exhaust ever bolt up to that turbo?

This would work out alot better over the phone.

Thanks.

I had a press bent 3 inch that was passed around like the flu, I think Ben has it now and it was way louder than my straight through spyrocket exhaust... It would kill you at 2500 rpms... It was a freak of acoustic principles...

it was stupid loud..... I drove to Bloomington with it and it almost made me loose my lunch it was so loud....I also drove it to MN and had to wear ear plugs just to stay sane..... but that is fixed now with the smaller tip...

you can accually hold a conversation in the car and I drove it to MN again with out feeling nausea.

back to your plans:

3" is good flow, but SPY is right, you need to tune to knock instead of boost.

If you want to change gas and run 22 lbs of boost, probably shouldn't do it with a 14b.... that puts it well out of the efficiency range. 16g might get you closer to the efficiency range.... but might still be pushing it. you will also need an AFC or SAFC to tune that out for the switch... not to mention the fuel mods needed to feed a beast on that much boost.

Good luck

Ben

...most definetly, I am going as high as I can BEFORE it knocks, and not moving on till i resolve the problem.

My 14b is on its way out as we speak , i am not too sure but i think i am hitting full boost at 3800rpm and the turbo is making this whining sound. Its on its way out, I am just trying to use it till i find the right deal on its replacement.

i have heard people getting 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust and were confused as to whether they gained power or lost, (at stock boost) so i just wanna make sure before i go with a 3", that i am buying the right thing.

Thanks.

I put a 3" on mine, its not really loud, i can drive it every day and it doesnt bother me (i drive with my windows down anyway), but i wouldnt use it for any fancy dates though. Actually my exhaust bolted in amazingly easily, just wish i had more rubber hangers dry.gif

Im overkill for my goal, but better safe than sorry
