any car guy would've cried to see what the previous owner of my talon did to the suspension. so this past weekend i spent the rest of my money and bought all new struts, with all necessary hardware, and spent all of friday and some of saturday putting on the new suspension. oh yeah i also got three of the original springs and another from a 99 RS. so i got all the suspension on and the right side of the car is exactly one inch taller than the left side. the struts are "gas adjustable" so i tried doing that to even it out but to no avail. so im thinkin that one or more of the springs is bad. my question is i like how the left side looks, being an inch lower, so what are some good springs that lower the car about an inch to 1 1/4 that still retain much of the oem ride quality. im lookin at either eibach or suspension techniques or something else. but i would appreciate any info. if any of you have these springs, please tell me some good qualities and bad qualities of them. thanks again

Eibach Pro Kit's are good for 1g's I know. Not up much on the 2g's. Might want to check into a set of coilover's.

it had on it "matrix" coilovers when i got it that apparently were compressed all the way for so long that they were just nothing but wasted space. i was hoping that there is some nice springs that are only a little lower than stock so that i wont have to get new struts, again
 nopi has some suspension techniques springs for $184 a set. that seems like a pretty good deal. id love to get eibachs but they are a little out of my price range as of now. the picture for the sus. tech. has 4 springs, is that what they mean by a set, or is it just two? it says they lower 1.3 f and r. anyway keep the info and comments coming please. thanks

The eibach prokit will be about 200 and you will get all four corners. The pro kit lowers it about 1.3 to 1.2 in the front and the back is about 1.4 to 1.3 the back will sit just a tad higher. Also if you are thinking of lowering the car any more then 1.5 you will have to have camber kits on and will diffently need a Realignment ASAP.
Usually when they sell springs they will come in a set of all four corners! also this info is for the AWD the 2WD will be about .1" higher! -------------------- |

i found at www.optionsauto.com a set of Tanabe GF210 springs for $156 that are supposed to lower it 1.2" in front and back. has anyone had experience with these before? i know that Tanabe is an excellent company. do you think that with that sort of drop, i would have to do anything else besides an alignment? how well do you think these would ride in terms of harshness, etc. ? any info is appreciated. these seem to be the cheapest and i trust the name, so these will probably be my choice. thanks again, you all have been great help.

Unless you like the slammed look, I wouldn't go with the sportlines... they drop the car like 2"+ A little too low to still be able to do speedbumps and such. Just my .02...

I'm not familiar with the brand you posted in the link but I'd look at it this way if I were in your shoes:
If you need a 'quick fix' just to be bearably drivable and can't afford any mods, go with something cheap but servicable. It'll be just to tide you through till you can do it 'right'. Given that, I'd pick up someone's stock suspension who had upgraded for like $50 all around. You can always find someone who will take a little cash for 'unsellable' stock parts cluttering their garage. Especially if you are willing to drive and pick up (no wasted time for the seller, cash to get it out of their garage) If you're going to put in the time and money to buy 'upgrades' I'd try to do it right and avoid wanting to do it again next year. Not sure what your price range is but if you can swing it I'd reccomend going with a tried and true performance upgrade. For the 1G the classic is KYB AGX's with Eibach Prokits or Ground controls. Basicly try to avoid the previous owner's mistake of buying a crappy brand, shelling out the mod money and ending up in the same position this time next year. Just my $0.02 -------------------- |

well i went ahead and got the Tanabe springs. they seemed like the best deal. i like the low look, but i dont like very harsh ride quality. i went ahead and got these because i despertly need an alignment already and it would be stupid to drive all winter and ruin my brand new tires, only to get an alignment next spring (along with new tires) which is when i planned on putting sport springs on it. this way, the springs only lower it about 1.2" so it will still be very drivable in the winter, yet still has a nice appearence. plus these springs lower the car the least of all the springs i found. and they are Tanabes. If that isnt a great performance name brand, then i dont know what is. not saying that Eibach or any others isnt. anyway, they should be here in a week or so. thanks again.
