i am garaging the Z in the winter. so i am in the market for a REALLY CHEAP vehicle. preferably an old pickup or suv 4x4 of some sort. price range under $1000. if anybody knows where i could find something like this id appreciate it.

its still up in the air as too if ill make it or not, i dont have to work friday or sat morning, but i have a wedding rehersal early saturday morning that is imperative to my health that i be there. ill let ya know.

buy a beater AWD dsm.... 4 wheel drive and pimp value in one box

I think he's done with DSM's gsx.... haha
 Be careful of the cheap trucks, most of them need massive amounts of work to be anywhere near realiable. Plus they suck gas like it's going out of style (trust me, I just bought one...  )On that note, I happen to have this fine example of ingenius German Engineering in my possesion that I'd be willing to part with for the right price. It's been my DD for the last 2 months or so... 33mpg +, room for 4, 5-speed fun, FWD traction, and it's even got A/C!!! I'm talking about my little 86 Jetta, 153k and it's had massive amounts of work done to it in the last 3 years while my mechanic Father-in-law owned it and drove it daily. $700 and it's yours!!

Definately not much to look at, but I'll try to get one tonight. Forgot to mention that it's got a CD player, too.
Problems: Fair amount of surface rust starting all over, exhaust rattles when you go over big bumps, runs a little rough on start-up (but always starts), and it's a little difficult to get used to shifting (very sloppy shifter). All-in-all a very good little car, especially for $700. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

i've got an '89 olds cutlass calais you can have for $150. it has no reverse. however, i have a friend with a tranny that will work on it for $50.

Mine has reverse as well as five forward speeds...
 Uploaded a couple pics to my garage, FYI. Car developed an exhaust leak on the way home tonight, I'll have to get that fixed this weekend.
