No ticks, knocks, squeals or anything its a miracle! Hope to see some of you guys out this weekend as i will be putting the first 1000 breakin miles on her. (Right in her butt like i did akamiami and spy).

REPOST! tongue.gif

Good to hear. To bad I couldn't be there to see it. Finally. Just think, if Kalina wouldn't have messed up the crank it would have been running by Aug 1st! Almost 3 months later it runs. I guess if the oil lines didn't pop off it wouldn't have been down at all, but in any case, its good that its running again. Too bad you only have a month of good weather to drive it. Get your overstretched pooper to Cordova the 30th and run it.

Speaking of Kalina and machinists in general. Does anyone know of other machine shops in the area that do good engine work? Mangus is out, and I don't think I trust Kalina's work anymore. Where does that leave us? I'd go as far as Bloomington if necessary.

Yeh I think Bloomington is the only place. Although I think there is a little place in Pekin but i havent herd if they do good work or not. But my advice is to never go to kalina again, they screwed me hardcore!

Kalina did the machine work on my engine. Seemed to be doing fine til I started throwing alot of boost at it and pressurizing my crankcase. I'm not blaming Kalina for that. This engine has been run hard, but I've heard too many other stories about questionable work from him. R@nta, you're down in Btown now, right? Heard of any good machine shops down there?

Turbohcar, didn't you say you had a hookup with a machine shop?

Doug Wallace recommended JoPac in Bloomington. Let me know what you want done. I have a guy in CA that does pro engine work if you're really really serious and want it done right. Depends what it is. If its turning down a flywheel, no biggy, but if its boring, honing, line honing, balancing, etc have a pro do it.

JoPac is a joke, they're just a better version of AutoZone. It's like going to the toy store for a four wheeler, you're going to get a miniature version of what you really want. Try Precision Engines in Bloomington. They built my motor and had a hand in Moushon's motor. Good stuff and the price is worth it. Call 1-309-828-2161 during regular business hours

I concur. Straightforward people, take a lot of time determining your goals with the engine. As far as I have seen, they back their work very well.

Honestly, I'm just going off of word-of-mouth. I've never actually dealt with them but that is one of the more common comments I've heard made.
