Im selling my 91 tsi, with hopes to find a Spyder with a blown motor or no motor at all for that matter. Plans to swap in high compression jdm 4g63 with big 16g turbo and other mods to build a sleeper. I have the motor and all the upgraded parts waiting for the car, but they are hard to come across. If anyones knows anything about a 2gen spyder for sale no matter what the condition please reply.

Mods, why is it that we can't type R a n t a, but we CAN type "jdm?" I figured for sure that such nomenclature would be banned on a tech board. And for the record, what is the compression on the Cyclone engines?

Good luck ever finding a bigger turbo included on a JDM motor. It was always a rare find and most of those days are long gone. Most import companies will strip off mods and upgrades and sell them separately these days.

Oh, and the compression should be the same. Only possible difference would come from the 'JDM' metal headgasket. If it is thinner than the US HG (which I don't think it is) it would incrementally raise compression.

Why not just swap in a used USDM motor and use the money you saved on an EVO3 Big 16G?

I'm with Travis. JDM 4g63's aren't worth it. The less expensive USDM motor is the way to go.
