If we are going to make this competitive, it has to be limited in some aspect. I would suggest a "spec" tire, for example. I cannot guarantee victory, hell, I can't dream of it currently, but there has to be some type of level playing field.

Also, and I don't do this to purposely exclude Rizzo, but I believe the intent was to make this a DSM fwd concept. Rizzo's rizzide is immaculate, but really has nothing in common with these cars, other than drivetrain layout.

Finally, although it is only in it's budding stages at this point, I believe this will come down to $$ invested, which is not a game I'm up to. So I'll say that I'm proud to hold the current fwd DSM local record for the time being, and I hope to make a valiant effort to keep it this year, but my sneaking suspicion is that dollars and parts are going to be the whole game.

James, i voted for you. don't puss out.. of course it is all about $$$ and parts. in a wholistic view, that is the game. the other huge part is the driver.

the way i see it, it's a pretty damn level field right now, with you having an advantage of the headstart.. running car, 13.4, and time to improve and tweak.

spy, has no running car, has parts, has experience with tuning the car and can drive.

garner has $$$ and parts, and masterhonduhbuilder.

Technically, I need to talk less smack. I'm a god among these peons. There will be no pussing out. Rantis, no, I do not plan on resting where I am. From my point of view, I see 12.40s in plain view. I understand that's a long shot, but I think possible by the end of the year.

This contest will depend greatly on the driver, true. FWDs are a biotch to launch.

Xian, keep the faith. These suckas gots no shot, except Rizzo.

Spy, is my personal savior, thanks for helping me get where I am.

I'm lovin it. Keep up the good work y'all!

masterhonduhbuilder, why must I be last? What did I do to you? Once again, is it so hard to believe that Spy or I could build a fast car?

For the record, how many times have you driven your car in the past year? What kind of radio do you have? Point being, your car is not a street car. It is a dedicated race car. So you may have the fastest fwd in the area on the track, but you do not have the fastest street fwd.

When did the import community turn into Johnny Tran vs. Torreto BS.

When I first got into the import scene around here. It seemed like you could easily talk to anybody in this sport and they would be happy to help a fellow enthusiast better his/her car. I have had a LOT of help from alot of people in the area. My car would not be what it is or what it is going to be without the help of Matt Cool (mechanical), MIke masterhonduhbuilder ( research and tuning help), Dan Showallter (for the emergency after hours parts dept at his house) Rob (R&T's Dyno and Head work) Frank Smith (South Florida Performance), Sean (ERL), and Lawson (AEM REP), Robert Vaness and Adam Shott (for misc. help whenever I needed it) I know there are more but they have slipped my mind right now. My point is that without the community and enthusiasts in the area none of our cars would be much to brag about and personally if Spy, Garner, Moushon, masterhonduhbuilder, Cool or anyone else I know gets better times goes faster or whatever I will be cheering them on and be just about excited for them as I would myself or the the guy that takes a limeted budget and gets 12-13's in a car he has less than $3500 in it. This is the atitude that resulted in alot of cars being built over the last couple years.

But in the last 1-2 years I have noticed the E-Thug attitude and shittalking that is ruining the sport in this and already has CII. I wish everyone the best of luck over the winter with their builds and a Merry Christmas to all with toughts of forged pistons and rods dancing in their ported and polished heads

Hope to see you all at he track with the old attitude

I'm in total agreement with your attitude. Overall it's very sound. But, I would like to clarify a few of my opinions.

1.
QUOTE
It seemed like you could easily talk to anybody in this sport and they would be happy to help a fellow enthusiast better his/her car.

This has not changed. There have been several people willing to lend me their knowledge, all nighters, tools, and parts to help me out along the way. The list is longer than worth posting here.

ethug wars aside, when Garner needed 450cc injectors 'yesterday'/now, I cordinated with him and Travis, who ran late pulling them off a car to meet with masterhonduhbuilder at the cii house, and they were sold at the same fair price that is lower than most anywhere else.

point being is that in time of need, ethug attitudes were set aside on both sides.

2.
QUOTE
personally if Spy, Garner, Moushon, masterhonduhbuilder, Cool or anyone else I know gets better times goes faster or whatever I will be cheering them on and be just about excited for them as I would myself or the the guy that takes a limeted budget and gets 12-13's in a car he has less than $3500 in it.

Once again, total agreement here. But, it is also a competitive sport, against yourself as well as good old fashioned try to be faster than someone else. If I lose, I lose and congratulate the winner, especially if it's a personal best for them.

3.
QUOTE
But in the last 1-2 years I have noticed the E-Thug attitude and shittalking that is ruining the sport in this and already has CII.

Actually, since e-thugs/ aka trolls have started recieving one week bans from cii, the site seems to be rolling along smoothly towards a recovery from the ups and downs it's had recently.

Friendly competition helps some to strive harder to accomplish their goals. It is no secret that masterhonduhbuilder and I are not fond of each other in any way, but in all honesty I would still consider it a friendly race, I look forward to the competition, and expect it to be a good challenge. If he beats me I gladly pay up, congratulate, and have more incenitive to worker harder for next time. And vice versa.

While I dislike masterhonduhbuilder's troll / ethug personality I will hand him that 12.8 na is impressive, and look forward to running him. A small wager on top of that doesn't hurt the sport, just makes the stakes a little higher.

4.
I think what you are running into is a misconception of a few bad apples spoiling the bunch. There a few trolls that are local to these boards and area. They purposely push buttons and stir the pot. I will admit, I have a habit trolling for these trolls, but that is becuase I will say what others won't. I am brash. And a lot of the members who have been here longer have already learned to ignore them.

For the most part dsmcentral and cii have a lot of helpfull members that are full of wonderfull information. But, one or two trolls looking for trouble and pushing buttons can quickly induce things into a flame war.

Becarefull not to misconstrue your perception of the boards based on a troll or two, every board has them.

and allthough not stated earlier, I am all for the Rizz being allowed into the Traction Limited Smoke Tires War.

Rizzo: Solid stuff. I agree 100%. Tell Cool I need his stock EK headlights.

To all: I only talk smack to muddy the waters and keep things competitive. If Rantis or Garner called me for anything, I would help them to the best of my ability just as I would Spy or anyone else. Regardless of reciprocated opinions, I consider all members (except Turbomedouschebag) of this site friends, even if I don't really know them, simply out of a shared love for the whips.

Rantis: Forgive my misunderstanding, I was under the impression that your car has been a race car since the swap. I really wasn't trying to take anything from you or your car.

I think the issue we are dealing with in regards to the apparent E-thuggedness is the fast that there are certain circles that know one another on a more personal level than the rest of the site. The mentor/student concept comes to mind here. We just need to learn to distinguish between serious and bs. I could call Spy a douschebag, and everyone would know that he wouldn't be mad. On the other hand, if I say "F**k Garner," some may think I mean it, including Garner himself. I guess I am of the opinion that the trolls are bad, but people should really lighten up about things as well.

Basically, I like fast cars. It could be a Daewoo Lanos for all I give a damn, but if it rips the hides through third, kudos to the builder. I look forward to a good season, imports in this area are starting to get pretty serious. Good luck to all, except Spy, cuz I'm going to walk all over him. ph34r.gif

I am not saying that it is all bad here or on CII . Not so much here at all. It is just not what it used to be. I never said I wasn't competitive, if I wasn't, I would never have built the car the way I did or put the amount of time, money, and effort into it. There are still some key people that do help alot of others and have a good attitude towards everyone in general, just not as many as in the past.

DSMcentral is the way it should be with 90% of the the things on here. It seems you guys all get along and the shittalking on here is all in fun and everyonre knows that (I think). CII is not this way and is why I check out this forum from time to time.

I don't know how well you know Mike (masterhonduhbuilder) but he is one person thet does help alot of people out. He may not talk much about his car but you have got to give him credit for what he is doing (with his car) I don't know if he has let it be known what he has done and what exactly he is in the process of but lets just say I respect anyone that builds something privatly and mostly self fabricated and designed to run in a class with full sponsored cars. Even though he has his moments of E-thug'n he still is a good member of the automotive community

I think James point of circle of friends is why we are now over clarifying everything we say. or maybe becuase we are walking on the thread of what was a pissing match moments ago.

Gotchya the first time, just wanted to clarify.

I did give masterhonduhbuilder props for his na.

DSMcentral runs amazingly smooth becuase it has had stable strong leadership for a long long time. On this board members, including myself behave differently becuase of the proper moderation that happens here. It is pretty much a no bs site, step out of line, get smacked. Which cii hasn't had either of those. I hope that over time, stability and adhering to rules will help it on it's way.

I don't know Mike personally, but have acknowledged in several posts his hand to Chris.

I will enjoy racing him, as well as yourself over the next season.

just a question... and not meant to be a spark... but would you please clarify in your opinion, what makes or seperates masterhonduhbuilder from this?

QUOTE
But in the last 1-2 years I have noticed the E-Thug attitude and shittalking that is ruining the sport in this and already has CII

when you acknowldedge this?

it's my understanding from your first post that the ethugn is exactly what is upsetting you and ruining the sport?

I wasn't going to say Mike is an exception E-thug'n but alot of what he does there is some point to it. He was a smart-pooper about the sdm steering wheel, but he had a point in the roll cage thread about specific ?s that never got answered. He had told me about it so I could pass the info onto Adam who has a B16 turbo crx. I asked the very same ? to him Brand? and most important chromoly or mild steel ( HUGE weight difference ) and was it 6 or 8 point? It seemed te ?s never got answered and wasn't responded to well. So yeah he is a smart-pooper. I do think he could cool it on the E-thug'n too I wasn't excluding him from that . I was just saying he does have a lot to offer the car community, once you take away that.

sorry for the thread hijack it was not intentional.

thanks rizz... if it could have been stated like that from the beginning, i doubt he would have been banned, and that we would have had the pissing match here.

i appreciate you taking the time to answer that calm and cool.

i'll take blame for the hijacked thread.

Big thanks to Rizzo for all the kind words and props. It is very appreciated. Anytime you need a hand, let me know. And thank you for the help you have given me in the past. This coming year is going to be great for us Honduh boys.

With all the parts, tuning, research, car building, and other help I've given to Rizzo, Garner, Clark, Winkel, Kris, etc, I haven't charged them anything or tried to make any money of them. I do it because I love it, I learn more each time, and I like helping my friends succeed in their goals. I go out of my way to help these guys even though it might not be the best business plan or good for my relationship with my girlfriend... lol I'm not here to make money. I'm here to go fast and help my friends do the same.

Moushon - We're cool. Everytime I've talked to you in person we're cool with each other and I've tried to lend some advice to help you bust into the 13's, which you did (Congrats btw). I get a little defensive about my car sometimes. My bad.

What I did a year ago, was a year ago, and I don't like to talk about it or brag about it, because it was a long time ago, my car is COMPLETELY different now, and I'm just not one to intentionally go around and talk sh!t. Thanks to all for the props. Hopefully next year I can do a lot better.

I do stir the pot and "E-thug" sometimes. Sorry guys. Most of the time I'm just giving my friends sh!t or being a smarta$$. My New Year's Resolution is to be a better board member. I think we can all make an effort to chill out a little bit on here and Cii. We're all grown ups, but our egos get the best of us sometimes.

Markus - No need to cut it up. I think it has made a turn for the best and we're getting along now. We all had some bent up Christmas shopping frustration we needed to blow off. LOL!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Drive safe.

I take back my statement about Garner being 2nd. He will be towards the back because that ball and chain he now has strapped to his leg is going to slow him down so much. AND thats only if his new wife hasn't pushed his car off a cliff by then. tongue.gif

It was 1979 with a worthless 1200cc engine. This thing was faded orange with the black targa top, and black trim paint to cover up rust repairs on the fenders. It didn't look to bad with the 235 series tires I had stuffed in, but it still didn't handle or accelerate! mad.gif

Just my opinion, but a burnout contest isn't that spectacular and is a lot harder on the motor than going down the track. If I had a POS and didn't care if I blew it up, then I would consider it. From the FWD burnout contests I've seen the first one or maybe two are neat, but after that its boring. I also wouldn't want to spend the money on tires and deal with finding another set of rims to mount them on. Just my opinion.

I do like the fastest ET thing. biggthumpup.gif

So, what's the update on the competitors here? Lots of smack talking from a few months back but the event is drawing closer. biggthumpup.gif
