I was just wondering what the perks are of going w/ big bore (i believe 3mm) over the 1mm(once again not for sure) lifters. I'm not looking to purchase n e right now because funds are still very low and have other things im looking to get when i do get money (such as timing belt and tensioner replaced) but for future reference and just out of curiosity i just was wondering.
Thanks -------------------- Hopefully getting back into things w/ a 90 laser rs-t

Well, the newer, larger passage lifters allow oil to more easily enter them, and resist clogging unlike the old ones that many of us still have. It takes away that lovely ticking sound the enginge makes..........well..........all the time. At least it tends to on my engine.

Along those same lines the lifter tick can be picked as knock from the knock sensor, if it hits the right frequencies. The late model lifters make this problem go away.

wouldn't that relieve some valuable oil pressure throughout the oiling system?

I've never heard of any negative effects from the new lifters, but that is an interesting thought.
