As some of you know, I'm driving a 94 Topaz while I get money saved up for other things. She's a good little beater with 186xxx on the clock, but no get up and go. That's ok, because she lookes like hell and I got her for $250. A couple of days ago the exhaust rotted apart in one spot. The exhaust system is going to need to be replaced.

Is it bad that the first thing to my mind was a 14b and 3" back to replace the exhaust with? What is this thing that makes me want to make power where there is none. Damn these DSMs and their great power potential. They have made me want to mod a Ford.

Wow, can't help you with your disease as I think most of us suffer from the same thing. I have driven a Topaz before and yes they jimungous hunks of worthless dog turds when it comes to going anywhere in a hurry. My S10 is the same way, slow as piss. Despite the availability of turbo kits from Cavaliers (it has the 2.2L Cavy motor in it) I've managed to hold myself back. Mainly because, it's reliable as it is and I know if I tinker with it that much it will break much like my DSM has. It would take me anywhere in the country I wanted to go at a moments notice and that's the way I like it. Reliability.

Yeah, the sickness overtook me shortly after my engine fire. I was ready to ditch the car and get something else, but the DSM called to me. Like a wicked siren in the storm. I came closer to hear what it was saying..........next thing I know, I've got the car gutted, and I"m putting in a new wiring harness. These cars are like heroin, but without the lines in your arm.

I was afraid that I was going to read this post and see that you had picked up a cheap 1G! At least with the Topaz it doesn't have an as effective upgrade path and will hopefully deter you until you meet your other goals.

after my collection of 2 dsms that continuted to plague my pocketbook with broken this, broken that, i decided that if im putting this kind of money in a car, may as well be a model thats worth it, so here comes my GSX, crossing my fingers that it would be trouble free till i owned the title, but alas, the dsm jinx occured again and now the car sits alongside the garage awaiting me to pull the motor, and what am i driving now?????, the 1.8 slow laser that i desperatly wanted to get rid of. *crosses fingers it holds together*
