Not to be a smart ass but........

Powder Coated Candy Blue

Cleared with an additive called Firemist Blue.

This adds sparkle and fantastic depth.

The letters were brushed to a shine

The pcv valve was removed and coated in powder coat chrome and cleared then reinstalled biggthumpup.gif

Thanks, Bud!

I read that the first time you posted it. Doesn't mean he wants that exact same color scheme. Thanks again for the helpful post. biggthumpup.gif

yes, I want the DSM one to be in the same color as the blue one on ebay, with the brushed looking letters and everything; basicly like the way mine looks now, except not heat faded like mine is. here is my garage so that you can kinda see what mine looked like with-out all of the heat fade.

and I want the can a beer one to be candy apple red... no letters on the cover to give the brushed look to

mitsu90, can you give me a price and a turn around time???

i'll probably have to do one at a time so that I have one of the cars running while the other is down

There is a place in Bloomington that does powder coating too. I can't think of the name of the place but I think they're on south Veterans; south of Morris ave.

the place you are thinking of is Associated Sand Blasting. i know alot of people that have taken their wheels and valve covers there for powdercoating. they do good work. if you are doing an odd color like the candy apple blue you may need to buy your own powdercoat (http://www.eastwoodco.com/index.jsp) you will need to buy the chrome reflective undercoat and a translucent overcoat. i think each powder is like $15.

if you just want to do the valve cover in whatever color they are doing it is even cheaper because they can just throw it in with whatever they are baking.

once it is powdercoated you will need to sand off the powdercoat on the lettering and polish them, you can also get a polishing kit from Eastwood.

also check out www.columbiacoatings.com for colors. They have a better selection, IMO. Also, there's a lot of real-world pictures of what colors and finishes look like.

There is also a place called Powder Coatings Unlimited (136 Greenwood Ave, Bloomington, IL 61704 | Phone: (309) 820-1444) that is on South Veterans. Have never heard anything about them but they have a pretty nice building.
