hello everyone. I'm new to the forum, I just happened to stumble across it while searching for stuff on google. I'm currently stationed in Guam right now but I'm PCS'ing to Offutt AFB, NE in August. I was just wondering if anyone here is near Omaha? I own a '92 Talon TSi AWD and a '05 Lancer Ralliart. I've been on dsmtalk and tuner forums but this is a new one. I'm hoping that most of you guys are in the central U.S hence the name of the forum. If it is, I'll stick around.

Welcome to the forum!

You may check out your distance from Cordova, IL. DSMCentral usually hosts/co-hosts at least a couple of drag events there each year.

The next event is being discussed in this thread if you have not run across it yet:

Thanks man, I'll probably hang around since Illinois isn't that far off and I could probably make it out for a few things like shootouts and stuff. I haven't really found any dsm'ers in nebraska or anything. I'll get some pics of my cars up when I'm not at work. lol

yea I was surprised at the condition of the leather when I bought it. It doesn't have a rip or crack in it anywhere. Just some wear. The car has been taken care of really nicely.

How does the ralliart run? Sorry for the ignorance but is it like a knock off of the EVO? That thing is SWEET! biggthumpup.gif

The ralliart runs really well. It's not a knock off evo, it's more of a hyped-up regular lancer. I consider the Evo a whole different beast than a lancer. The ralliart is in the same car class as the sentra se-r spec-v, tC, civic si, rsx type-s, mazda 3s, focus svt, celica gt-s, cobalt ss non-supercharged, and other cars like that. on average most people run mid-low 15's stock. with just an intake and better street tires, 14's are easily achievable.

Motor trend ran a 14.9 in the ralliart when it first came out in '04 but that was when it came with bridgestone potenzas, now they put crappy goodyear eagle rs-a's from the factory which do nothing but great burnouts.

here in Guam, There is a Density Altitude of about 2600ft. and the correction factor is .5sec and the track here is unprepped (no VHT). My best pass is 15.949@85mph with a crappy 2.4 60ft. Just for some reference, There hasn't been ONE car in the same class that has pulled off a 15sec time bone stock like I am. That's how bad conditions are here. It's HUMID as ****! I'm waiting to get to nebraska so I can get a new PB in it and hopefully pull off a low 15sec pass.

I don't really plan on doing anything to it because the talon has SOOOOOO much more potential. But maybe one day I will get RRM's turbo kit and play with it some. RRM Stage 2 with Alky injection can put out 300whp. As for right now, it is my wife's car until I get her a new car.

sorry for the long drawn out explanation. I just figured you'd want a detailed one since not many people really realize what the ralliart is.

Just wondering. I read this on another forum. Since you're in Guam I was wondering if you could shed any light on this... What's your job in Guam anyway? You say you are stationed there, but for what? J/K biggrin.gif

I'm looking to run mid to low 13's as of right now and be in the 12's by january. I had a black '92 tsi awd before I joined the AF and I blew the motor right before I went to basic. Then I got my orders to Guam and I just parked it at my friends house. I've been stationed here since Aug. '04. This past March, I took leave and went back home to South Carolina and I bought this white tsi and parked it at my friend's house. I got a steal for it. I only paid $500! Absolutely nothing wrong with it other than it had been sitting for 3 months. The guy was moving to Brazil so he just had to get rid of it and let it go for Cheap! lucky me. So it's relatively stock right now but should be doing some amazing times next year.

As for natedogg, I'm in the Air Force and my job is P.O.L. (Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants). I drive Big Green Fuel trucks out onto the flightline and fill all the planes. That's the basic definition. There's a whole lot more to it than that though. Pretty much anything that has to do with Aircraft fuel, we do it. Store it, transfer it from tank to tank, deliver it, test it, sample it, receive it. And we maintain all our fuel trucks when they break down. We also have hydrant systems that pump the fuel from a huge tank into pipes that run in the ground out to the aircraft and into a hose truck and then into the plane.

i don't know anything about that quote you found there though. lol.

That looks like a hell of a car for $500!

Did you modifiy the black Talon? Doing the standard modifications, exhaust UICP, intake, fuel pump etc will get you in the 13's real fast. See HERE for the upgrade path most follow.

That turbo upgrade will easily push you into the 12's

That "Oils and Lubricants" job definition is bound to get a few comment here and may be tied to Nates job description smile.gif

yes I did modify the black talon, it was running 12.2's! but the turbo went with the motor. It was a b16g.

I know my talon now could hit high 13's, but i'm workin on getting a fuel pump so that I can turn the boost up with some race gas and pull off some mid-low 13sec times.

and yes I figured the "oils and lubricants" Phrase would catch some attention. lol
