ok turbochargers.com has the 17c wheel for $79+ shipping. since I have 0 shaft play should I bother with a rebuild kit or just get the wheel?? and since I will have the turbo off the car is there anything I should do to gain a little extra power??

If I were you I'd just start budgeting for a new turbo. With a new unbalanced wheel on there you'll be lucky to get 10k miles out of it. Good luck man

Turbo shops balance them. I don't think there's anything in the area. Maybe someone else can weigh in here.

damn I can get a new wheel for $79. the is no shaft play and belive it or not the thing spins freely I would hate to just junk it I would love to go bigger but if this turbo can be saved theres no need. and besides I still need to run a 12.99 on this set up ph34r.gif

call forced performance and see what they would charge to balance it.

Did you ever find out what it was or more importantly, where it is?

Michigan Turbo will do the balancing as well. They're located out of Grand Rapids Michigan and they have a webite. www.michiganturbo.com

excellent point.... i'd spend the time to find it before it ends up in the head and does a LOT more damage.

I don't think it made it past the intercooler, haven't had the time to look any further.

turbochargers.com will ballance it for $50 but they wont tell me what I need to send them. they said if I send the whole turbo they will charge me for a rebuild.
