Coming back from Cordova today (watching, not racing) I stop and got gas. Car wouldn't start, got a jump and it immediatly started.

Driving back, if I tapped the brakes, turned on lights etc the car would studder, radio would go on/off,, check engine light come on and then off. The logger showed 14.0-14.5 volts, so the alternator was working....I finally get home at check the battery voltage 12.5!!! WTF??

I restarted the car several time in the driveway with no problems. Even with the headlights on, the car started... sad.gif

Any thoughts?? Maybe I'm just tired after draggin my 2 kids for 10 hours to a carnival and then to Cordova and I'm over thinking this wacko.gif

No guarantees, but I would check the battery connections first and all other major connections if those are ok. I'm sure you know that even corrosion under a tight connection can cause you problems.

Hmmm, that's a possibility.

I checked to make sure they were tight, I'll go through everything in the morning.

Sounds like a dead cell on the battery.

Went out this morning, battery read 12.5 volts and start on the first try.

I took apart all the battery connections an clean them. They were not that bad.

Hmmm, would a dead cell still cause the battery to read 12.5?? Or does the vibration and heat going down the road cause it to short out?
