My cruise control started acting up last week, I turn it on, push in the button to set the speed and it turns the cruise control off. It was an intermitant problem. Now it just turns off every time.

Any ideas what to check?

wiring. Cruise control on DSMs is a notorious issue, alot of them don't like to turn on at all except after pushing the button 4 or 5 times, one of my old ones didn't turn on unless i was slowing down while trying to set it, another one turned off at random times....i just pulled the arm apart and fixed the loose wires and it fixed the problem every time.

I replaced the vacum line. Check the engine compartment wiring. Checked the stop and clutch switches. All good. I tried pulling the cruise control diagnostic codes and getting nothing. Makes me wonder if the control box is dead?

How does the stalk come apart, be worth checking too.
