A couple of weeks ago I sold the blue talon. It was a sad day. Now I have nothing to do. I usually spent my nights working on the car. Always something to do on a DSM especially this one. But it was time for her to move on. Sold it to a guy in KY. He just loves it. The plan was to sell the Talon and buy an EVO. Well I thought I was talking out of my ass but last tues I picked up a blue Evo8 in MN. I love this thing. I wasnt planning on modding it but we'll see.

Yeah. I love the blue. When I was looking I wanted blue, sunroof, under 45k and stock. I found 3 three and but this one came with Work wheels so it won top honors. I would love to drop it but then that could cause some problems down the road. Maybe after the power train warranty is gone.

Good lookin car.

Welcome to the Evo family!

I haven't touched my car, modding wise, and don't plan to. It's perfect now and I don't want to cause problems now or later.

Thats what I've heard from a lot of people. The EVO is a such a well balanced performance car from the factory that modifying it usually leads to a compromise one way or the other.

Nice car, but stock FTL.....

having the ECU flashed and putting some type of exhaust system on it really opens the car up, as well as makes it more efficient. Most guys see a little bit better fuel mileage out of a flashed ECU just because they come setup with a pretty rich fuel mixture from the factory

I know. I am full of shit. I said I was not going to mod it but I put a catback on last week and the downpipe and test pipe and MBC will be here on Monday. Tues I am having AMS flash the ECU. I will tell you guys this but to everyone else it is stock. My catback even looks like a stock exhaust minus the chrome look. I dont know if people will believe me because it already has a deeper tone and with the rest of the exhaust it will be even louder but whatever.

I had a few issues with mine throwing the CEL when I did the o2 housing/DP/TP. My TP had the mechanical fix integrated in it too. I think I had a Perrin DP and a helix o2 housing.

I would start shopping for a clutch smile.gif I'd also recommend a wideband and a boost controller....I have a few for sale (AEM Stuff) biggthumpup.gif

When I had mine I just put on an intake, full exhaust, and removed the boost limiter pill for a few extra psi. Made the car more fun to drive and ran low 13's at the strip with less than perfect launches. I was thinking about getting the ECU reflashed but sold it beforehand.

Broke first gear, which inturn took out more parts in the trans, destroyed the transfercase...

Have no fear, most of the members on this site, who have taken their evos to the track, have little to no issues with them. I saw Kazz roast a clutch one year, aside from that they are pretty durable.

32 passes in one day will do that to a stock Evo clutch... biggrin.gif

then again... I think I would rather have a full out 5 or 6 speed trans than a paddle shift auto.... kinda takes some of the fun out of it

Mitsubishi's auto transmissions were never known for their durability either...
