Well as some of you know I sold the Talon a few weeks ago because I needed a DD. I was looking to get out of the DSM game, so I went after a friends srt4 well that didn't workout out. So I got a hold of Andy about my old 90 gst, well he needed the money to fix the GSX so he said he would take $950 and I was like hell yeah I want to get it this weekend well I couldn't because I had to go to a cookout so I told him it will have to wait... So I was riding with Justin the night before the cookout and he told me about this 2g gst he was looking at but I didn't think much about it... Well the next day we were talking about a friends Talon and he said he wanted that so I asked about the GST and he said I could get it if I want. So I was like hell yeah and had him drive me by there but I couldn't get a good look so I went back later that day with David. I walked about 100-150 yards to get a look at her but still didn't get a good look because she was behind a fence... Well me and Justin went back a few days later... And I talked to the guy about it and he said he wanted $800 for it... Well we went back to look at it and she wasn't that bad but I asked if I could get her for $500 and he said yeah... So I am going back Friday or Saturday to pick her up!

It's a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST........Auto... wacko.gif But hey $500!! She runs but the seals on the turbo are bad... So she will need a new t25...(Just so I can get her on the road)

All stock with a fart can... There is only rust on one strut tower...

Her she is...

Some asshole tried stealing the side skirts but they just clip right back on so no big deal...

She needs one TLC but like I said $500!!

But she has an ugly blue interior w/ blue leather seats... Witch is going to be pulled!

Instead of buying a new turbo, I would try rebuilding it. Rebuild kit are under $100 and it's a pretty easy job.

Well I picked up the GST Saturday :dancenana:

Here are some pics...

On the way home... Thanks for the help David...

At home and really dirty!

How the **** can you let a car get this dirty!?!?

All of those pics are from Saturday and Sunday... I do not have any pics of my progress because my cam is broke... But I have replaced the turbo pulled all of the interior and painted the dash black. Cleaned the engine bay and buffed the car... I am getting ready to change the oil and take her around the block...

I have a triple pod on the way w/ boost/oil press/trans timp. I already have a MBC...

very nice find! A good project, but also a lot of work. Remember that most 95s have an eprom ECU. As soon as you can, pop that thing open to make sure the caps are good.

went over today and helped him finish gettin it runnin. Pretty nice car and definetly a good buy for $500. After a jump, the car started right up and ran fine. needs a few vacuum leaks fixed but other then that it sounded like it could be a strong running little car.

Nice find.

p.s. I still want that valve cover!!!!!!!!

Well here is what has been done so far...
Replaced most of the vac and emissions lines,
Oil change,
new plugs,
put my valve cover on,
pulled all of the int out and re-did it,
buffed the car.,
put two decals on her (shocker, got boost?)

tomorrow I am going to replace the rest of the lines and maybe take her for a quick spin around the block...

$500? Man, you really did get a deal. Assuming you have a '95 Eprom in there, the ECU alone is worth $150!

Mine comes on when the gauge is just before middle but I'm sure that doesn't help.

Uhm. If I let it sit and idle for about 20 minutes, it'll be at operating temp. Few revs to 4k and it'll kick on.

Could be the temperature switch and/or wiring to the switch. On a 1G the switch is located at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side.

did you ever get your gauges hooked up? i just ordered a bunch of stuff to run gauges in my car. not sure about the trans temp but the oil temp sensor should work in your car. as far as the oil pressure gauge on the evo there is an extra plug on the pump where you can screw in a 2nd oil pressure sending unit. 42 draft designs has all the stuff to hook it up to an EVO... not sure if you can do the same with the DSM.

this oil temp sending unit screws into the drain plug on the oil pan.

http://www.42draftdesigns.com/categories/p...do/vc323055.htm

not sure about the trans temp because that is a different size but you may be able to find something similar.

The boost gauge is hooked up. The oil and trans temp are not... I am going to hook up the oil press next time I change the oil and I have to tap into the tranny pan for the trans temp gauge...

Good deal! I don't have a girl to spend money on so I have all the more to put into the Talon.

Jon is supposedly going to personally drop off the transmission for my car sometime this week. I'm pumped.

How old are you anyways?

A comment/ suggestion:

Please expose all of that FMIC to incoming air. If you don't cut the whole bumper (which I can definitely understand), might I recommend fabbing up a piece of plastic or metal to direct air from the bumper up to the top of the intercooler. That way more of the atmospheric air can cool more of the charged air

I loved my car when I was running that EVO VIII FMIC on it... the only problem that I found was reliability of all those fittings and clamps... I was using high dollar silicone fitings and T bolt clamps, I boost leaked checked my system to over 22 psi in the shop and it lost less than 5 psi over 5 min... but for some reason if I hit over 12 psi of accual boost from the turbo, nothing would hold together.

I'm just curious, why would you try to go through the stock IC pipe location in the fenderwell? You could just short route it and go straight up through the radiator panel and go straight to the throttle body. I'm just thinking by short routing it that will save you quite a bit of lag time, especially with the stock turbo.

I didn't have the right piping to run it like that so I had to do what I had to do... When I do a turbo upgrade (16g) I am going to have custom pipes made.

Well I finally got to take my baby out for a ride today after almost 3 weeks of
sitting...

At first I wasn't happy with the power I was actually pretty pissed. But I pulled over to find that I blew a ic pipe off... I drove to a friends and put it back on. Then made sure everything was good and then opened her up... And wow... It has so much more low end power... And once it hits 15-16psi it screams... I have yet to get it out where I can really open it up but I am pretty happy with the turn out...

I am pretty sure I have a small boost leak here and there so I am going to do a boost leak test, comp test.

I am going to need custom lower ic pipes because they hit every bump there is... So I don't know when I am going to get it legal I have a lot on my list that will come before I get it legal

well I got to take her for a ride a few days ago and it feels like a whole new car... It's pretty quick... It was running on 16psi but I have turned it down to stock setting (13-14psi) to be on the safe side of things until I get link...

QUOTE (ncgalant @ Aug 9 2008, 06:40 PM)
I drove my galant like that for a couple of days. If you shift at 2500 it sounds like a semi.

I ran my GSX like that for about a week... sounded bad ass at 7k RPM

and I agree, it did kind of sound like a semi if I shifted early at 2500... the turbo spools fricken loud as hell.
