Well we haven't seen a kill story in a while, so I got one for you now.

We were cruising the highways and by-ways the other night, stretching the legs on the SC Miata. For most of the night there was little going on under the dim glow of the street lights. Then with me on the cellular piloting through a routine hunting loop, the co-pilot shouts 'SRT4'! With the excitement in his voice I new this expedition had uncovered a dominant male figure from the group of new sport compacts coming from the factory! I immediately squeezed the brakes into a quick right hand maneuver behind a hunters blind. I was able to end my call with the promise of a trophy on the line as we eased to the edge of the blind to see the prey's direction of travel. As we lay in wait we realized the SRT was going to come toward us and run the same direction we had hoped to lay our snare. With our plan ready to be executed and the ominous black star of our story committed to the turn, we swaggered out into the open with our testosterone driven intentions displayed almost as if the Miata had fir on the back of it's neck raised and a lip quivering over the super charge enhanced bi-cusped of an acceleration beast. The time ticked by slowly as we waited in the right turn lane with one purpose obvious to all that were cognizant of the event about to unravel.

Our target finally got the signal to roll to the left and as he did our loose footed Miata began the pursuit. The SRT pilot was now obviously aware of our presence, but was still ignorant to his role as the prey. We muscled the Miata up along side of the black beauty as it was laying down some serious speed. With the nudge of the throttle our Miata lunged a few times to make our intentions clear with no hint of doubt. The 'Dominant male' took the bait and used his muscle to pull a car length or two and set his mind in hyper race mode. When we began to escalate the pursuit, the light god shined a golden hue on our path and both hunter and hunted reeled the fevers of chase down into a display of posing with gestures of revving flung from one lane to the next.

At the first sign that it was clear to go, the SRT began to flee. Our trusty Miata grabbed the cool tarmac with all it had and ripped past the beast with the back-side-out posture proclaiming supremacy in it's launch. I slammed second gear with a screech of powered friction coming from the rear of our stead gaining up to two and a half lengths on the prey. After I flung the gear selector for third and let out the clutch to hold off the now sure footed SRT, the co-pilot and I hung our jaws open at the sound of a low RPM grunt only present as a sign of miss-shifting to fifth. 'Oh Sh!t' I exclaimed! To my surprise I had time to yank the shifter into third and regain acceleration before the SRT came by. However the damage had been done and the now beaten down prey clawed it's way past us to reclaim it's place in the hierarchy of the SCC wild. Do not distress in our efforts though... with the opponent only about one and a half cars ahead, our angry stead matched pace and began to reel our prey in just before another light from the god's brought us back into the dimension of regular commuter's and we rolled by the slowing SRT.

With a motion and the new found respect gained by the Miata our foe followed to a nearby location. As he came to a stop he exclaimed 'What's in that thing!' With a sh!t eating grin I replied 'Just a little super charger'. Some more greetings, congratulations, and getting to know each other followed in forms representative of two dogs sniffing asses. With the mark of our place in this jungle made known we finally parted ways and continued our hunt for the next unsuspecting prey...

Hahaha...Not hardly! Thanks guys, but I think you will find much of the spy inspiration in my story telling. Plus Spy can spin these storys at will, in person without hesitation. Very entertaining and one of the reasons I emplore his style.

BTW - The Co-pilot is a well seasoned veteran in the driving and hunting of thing we call performance cars. Eyes of an eagle, spidey intuition, cat like reflexes and a slight case of paranoia. wink.gif

Ok, Is it all right to be scared now or should we just back away slowly like that one guy that died told us to?
