okay well now that im thinking about it, the last time i dropped my tranny out of my car, while pulling out the driveshaft the (cv joint?) seperated from the shaft on the drivers side. i think its called a cv joint, but its that green block. but basicly that thing stayed in the trans while pulling the driveshaft away. and then i ended up prying that out. it was pretty loose and whatnot, but i was too anxoius to mess with it so i put just shoved it back in and the driveshaft locked w/ it just fine, but im wondering if this is a bad thing. i think there is ball bearings in there right? well i dont know, but i just wanted some opinoins on if that is ok the way it is or if i'll have to take it out and replace it or whatever...if i get a transmission.

If it's like the 1G AWD, it should be fine...the driver's side halfshaft just pushes into the tranny. Was there a retainer ring type deal on it?...there IS one on AWD passenger side halfshafts, but I think that the FWD might have it on the driver's side, instead.

as far as i know the drivers side and passengers side are the same thing, but maybe not. what held it together where it didnt completly fall apart was the rubber boot. I dont know whats inside of the boot though. i just lined it back up and it fit together fine.
