Quad Cities, Street Scene Report Options

Hey everyone. I just got back from the Quad Cities (northern illinois) and i just thought i'd give everyone the run down of what happens up there on weekend nights. there's a road (The Avenue) that runs through 3 of the 4 cities. it's about 10miles long. Speed limit's around 40mph. anyways...every friday and saterday night after the gas stations and the resteraunts close down....the kids come out to play. if you're driving through there...be ready to race. it's like a huge car show. every green light is a race. Old guys bring out thier Vettes, 80's and 90's style camaros (Z28's and SS's) are everywhere. Cobra Mustangs getting blown away by turbo'd civics is an hourly accurance. anything with over 150hp is considered a race car to them. crotch rockets fly down the streets at 90 left and right. I was sitting at a coffee shop watching races go down and i see this 85 camaro barreling down the road. It looked awesome but i noticed something wrong with the back end. i took a closer look and he was running slicks that were sticking out 4inches on each side!! but beware the Moline police come out in force....just watch your radars and a pot hole here and there...and you're up for a very festive weekend.

sounds cool, but i'd try and be less descriptive of the actual location... not that it doesn't sound like the cops don't already know...

Well it's a 10-15 mile long road and it's not like there's a cop at every light...but they are around. just be careful and keep an eye out.

avenue of the cities eh? I was there last weekend too but I didn't do the 'car thing'. Interesting description of events though.

I'm temporarily in the QC right now. I lived here for quite a few years. I have never seen a turbo civic around here. I have never seen all this F&F stuff on the avenue of the cities either. All you're going to see around here is dumb ass ricers and ass hole stang/camaro drivers.

i don't know where you go on the weekends but the 3 times i've been there it's been awesome. there are 2 civics that are turbo'd that i know of. one's an early 90's in primer grey (looked like a beater) the other one was a neon blue, 18's , no doubt about it that it was turbo'd.
