I'm not sure what it's going to cost, but I know a decent number of folks from peoria (including myself) are going to cordova friday night for the midnight mayhem thing. if you're interested in attending, speak up.

well, if you guys can go the group leaving from peoria departs around 10pm. I guess they were going to cruise around willow knolls first to see if they could find any takers that want to make the haul too....

I'll be leaving from my locale slightly later and meeting up with the group at the track since our routes are completely different.

The 16g says go to Cordova.

The stock clutch says I don't think so.

so I wonder if that means that no one from this board will be coming?

c'mon, it's only 15.00. It'll cost more in gas than it would to run at the track.

I'm such a b stard, the _one_ time that I go to the track I call everybody out for not going too....

I got five runs. Here's the results in the order they ocurred. I'll post the important numbers and give a comment.

run 1 - against some ls1 z28 I think. some wheelspin at lauch, could have been better, best 60' though and best et.
60' 1.730 - best 60'!!
trap 114.45
et 12.125 - best et!!

run 2 - can't remember opponent, bogged launch pretty good. worst run, but still better than my best previous et at the sdcc.
60' 2.066
trap 112.68
et 12.803

run 3 - against some white mustang who said he expected to win - decent wheelspin at launch.
60' 1.859
trap 115.37 - best trap!!
et 12.219

run 4 - against berlette's sti - bad launch, too much wheelspin
60' 1.978
trap 115.27
et 12.603

run 5 - against sprayed 350z
60' 1.760
trap 113.99
et 12.276

All in all, I'm just happy stuff didn't break and glad I was able to make it there and back with zero wrenching or adjustments needed to anything. I filled up with 92 octane here at a local pump in princeton before I left, had about 1/2 tank of gas when I started the runs (maybe a tad too much gas left I know). I could feel the timing getting pulled during all of the runs, so the car wasn't 100%, but it wasn't very far off at all. No excuses here, I'm good with my times.

I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make it the 19th.

Why would rusty be pissed other than because his car is broken? What times was he running again?

Berlette's sti has a suspension, volk wheels, bigger intercooler and full exhaust. He was doing mid 13's I think.

I saw a guy there earlier that night too who had an evo8 with a greddy ebc, full perrin exhaust, exedy clutch, dynoflash, and maybe a few other things that was running high 13's. He ripped one of his linkage cables off the tranny and I had to put it back on for him because he was going to have it towed away not knowing what was wrong with it. Sad.

I was just giving Rusty poopy since he ran a 12.3 and thought he would beat you. It would be a great race between the two of you when he gets the LSD put in next week. He's going to try to make it to BOTI the 18th and 19th.

Battle Of The Imports

Not for sure, probably Chicago. Could very easily be wrong.

Battle of the Imports is for those with "whips" that are far more "mad tyte" than the GS-T I have. There will be Civic GT-R's and Cavalier Type-R's as far as the eye can see. An interesting sight, I'm sure, but if you're new to tuning you will learn far more at Slo-Pny day. Although, if you are into show cars, dyno queens, and glow sticks, the "Battle" may be for you.

masterhonduhbuilder owns miami. Interesting visual. One that I never wanted, and will haunt me for all my days...

hmm, I thought graff's car was a bit faster than that on the low boost. Interesting to see how similar the numbers are even though it's two completely different animals. I'm sure his car is capable of much much more than 12.3. Does he plan to switch to race gas and up the boost at boti or anytime soon?

I think more boost and slicks at the track when he gets the LSD in. The Power FC isn't even tuned. He should see 11's no problem. You could also run the race gas and up the boost though right?

I thought the STI's were supposed be quicker than that, even stock. Was he not launching very hard?

Sad that Evo has all that done and could only pull off high 13's, when Kazz's is pretty much stock and running mid 13's. I gotta run mine at the strip sometime. Btw, have you ever looked into how expensive new rotors are for Evo's? Mine are feeling a little warped, so I looked into new stock ones from Mitsu...ouch. I'm thinking I might be able to find some aftermarket rotors for less.

I'm not running race gas. What's the point of running something that won't be good on the street? That's like having slicks for a car that you only use when you're racing. Or wearing seatbelts or condoms, sissy stuff if you ask me.

SCC did a huge writeup about rotors for the evo's and Sti's. You should take a look at it.

Berlette wasn't happy with his STi's times, and rightly so, they are supposed to run 13.1 stock. But then again, 'supposed to' and 'does' are two completely differnt things. You always hear the jackasses on the intarweb talking about how they got their 'stock' cars to run 12's but for every one of those guys there's a hundred or thousand shitball cars that couldn't manage a 14 with schumacher behind the wheel.

Having said that, I have no doubt that a better driver would have been able to nail a better than 1.7 sixty foot with analube and get the car into the 11's. I was looking on the dsmtimes.org page and my traps are good enough easily.

Hey nate, post your numbers from the time you almost hit 11's okay?

Sniff, I think Kris just called me a sissy. huh.gif

Those are some awesome trap speeds for pump gas. I've never been over 105mph on that camel piss people dare call 'gas'.

100 octane works great on the street. Don't cry because you're too cheap to buy it. Besides, you've ran race gas every time I've been to the strip with you. Can't remember if that was once or twice. biggrin.gif

On a more serious note, I look at it as more insurance and protection against detonation than anything. If I were running a standalone and knew everything would stay consistent from run to run I wouldn't worry so much, but throwing a piggy back on a 'stock' ECU tends to throw some inconsistencies into the equation every once in a while.

Yeah, I actually read that. Still too rich for my blood. Damn Evo's and their expensive brakes. RMR sells some slotted after markets for about 500 a set. rolleyes.gif

I know what you mean about Berlette's times in the STI compared to the rag rated numbers. God knows you and I should have both been in the 11's a long time ago. I bet Kicks or Darryl could pull some 11's out of my sanguinous nugget (referencing my car, don't get to excited Kicks...you dirty bastard biggrin.gif ).

I'll see if I can find them. I always seem to lose my timeslips. I think they're out in the garage though.

Off the top of my head the quickest ET I've run was a 12 flat, but I don't remember the trap speed. The fastest trap speed I've run is 121 mph, but I don't remember the ET. Go figure.

I'm positive I can make low 13s with the new clutch and more intelligent shifting... Hmmmm...

I found Natedoggs times from the last SCDC. The quickest and fastest run netted a 12.027 @ 116.46mph. You guys are so close with completely different turbo set-ups it's not even funny! biggthumpup.gif

This cracks me up...

Nate and I have both posted some of his LOW LOW 12 second ET's at least 2-3 times. This is the first time that we have seen a post of one of Kris's good runs. Yet it's a suprise that Nate was this fast?

No offense intended...it's just strange.

Yeah, I even saw Nate run that 12.0, but I guess it just didn't register. I had the notion that Kris' car was the baddest DSM around. And I rode in it and thought it was dam fast. Sorry guys.

Nate - I'm not a big turbo guy, so how does that compare to a t3/t4 and Kris' turbo?

Haha! Not a problem. biggthumpup.gif

My turbo pushes the same amount of air as Kris's turbo, but is standard bearing instead of ball-bearing, so it doesn't spool up quite as quickly.

what constitutes an interior? dash, seats, carpet? Don't play semantics sourass. My car sees more street miles than most.

You ever pop that new translator version in nate? I just ordered mine yesterday. Looking forward to being able to tune with some finesse now.

I got your message about the filter bracket too. I'll arrange that you can pick that up at your convenience.

Yeah, I've been tuning with it for the past few weeks. It works really well. Can't say the RPM dependent fine tuning did a whole lot for me, but overall the car just feels better.

Don't worry about the filter bracket, I grabbed one from Spy. Thanks anyway though.

yeah, i'm sure that berlette was sandbagging at the track and could have pulled better times. Hell, everybody pays to race at the track so they can short shift and double clutch right? Give me a break. I doubt he was worried about slamming it into a gaurd rail so much that it affected his ET's.

That just falls into the category of 'wasn't really racing' and the bs that goes along with it. It's one thing to say that a car wasn't setup properly, or just wasn't running right that particular day, but it's a whole completely different peice of total loser bullsh it and complete denial and flagrant failure to act responsibly and take credit for your own actions when you claim that you, or someone else, 'wasn't really trying'. Especially when you're speaking for someone, like you were speaking for berlette.

Maybe he was going 90% that night, but I doubt he needs you to make excuses for him, chief. Save that crap for when you get your as s handed to you by my dsm. See how well the whole, 'I could've been faster if I tried' thing plays off then.

I might have been able to get better times with a fresh set of tires. The kumho's I'm running now have been on the car for 3 summers now and are in need of replacement. Not much of an awd brag when I spin all four at the start. Having said that, with stickier tires, I might also break something in the process so who knows. Next time I go back I'll be looking to improve both technique and tires, so I'll cross my fingers and hope for something in the 1.5 range maybe maybe ::crosses fingers::

Also, didn't mean to flame you too hard in that last post, but it's weak bench racing bs like that that bothers me a lot. Too much talk after the race about could'ves and might haves.

Jason - Me and you right now 1/4 mile $100. I'll even give you a 10 second head start. Don't forget your Nike's.

1/4 mile = 400m = 1 lap at the High School track

So that guy bought it and it ran faster with him driving and a smaller shot? biggrin.gif

Thats one lame attempt to prove how fast your car is. You don't even own it for one, so who cares what it runs. Thats like posting a picture of a car with similar mods and saying this is what my car would run since they are the same. If you have something so bad, I'm sure Kris would race what YOU have NOW for some money. Put your money where you mouth is and step up Jason or shut up for once. I'll be waiting at the finish line.

Bla bla bla....

IMHO Sandbagging sucks period. I was not interested in that Monte in the least bit because it was a Monte and also because it had only mustard 13s to my knowledge. Had I seen it run 11s I would have liked to of checked it out better and learn what was truely involved with it.

This goes the same for any other BS artist out there that thinks there is something to gain by hiding what your car can truely do or not do. Usually when I see someone hiding their info, I figure they are just too embarrased to let everyone in on it . Either that or they are afraid it will not live up to their expectations and let the factless stories falsely build up their egos.

I can understand not giving out info on something that is not complete wink.gif . Because paper racing is just as uselelss.

This just burns my pooper, because I am honestly interested in performance whatever vehicles shape it might take. With this cloak & dagger poopy going on we miss out on a lot of cool info!!! dry.gif

Jason - Excuses is all I hear from you tongue.gif

Your buddy with the Mustang LOST! Get over it. He lost, Kris won, fair and square, its over and done with. Don't wine about a rematch like a little baby. I'm sure him and all your Pekin buddy's were pissed and threw a bigger shot on there and want to race again. Notice how Kris doesn't go around talking poopy on here or Cii. The river you've been crying is starting to flood every forum around the area.

You domestic boys need to grow up. If some import beats one of you, you go get your buddy's brother's uncle's boyfriend's dad's car that is faster just so you can beat them. Its like the world will come to an end if some import won and hasn't lost to one of you. Who gives a poopy. There is always going to be someone faster and sometimes it might just be an import.

Plain and simple Kris isn't a fucking retard. He didn't win by much and if the kid wants to race again obviously he's done poopy so its faster. Why just piss money away? He'd be a idiot to race without himself doing more things so its faster.

Yeah, you losing once again...lol.

Take the stick out of your pooper. I'm willing to bet he was just messing with you when he said he would race for titles and you took it as being serious. Thats the thing about the internet, sometimes you can't tell when someone is joking or being serious. You need to lighten up there Vin Diesel.

agreed, i'd like to see it go further... can't you guys post any faster? i know i sure as hell can... and i'm bored, i drive all day long and look at this poopy. i need more!

this thread kind of reminds me of every 'i've got a big dick' baller walk'n around with a limp, but afraid to throw it out. I'll be the first to say i've got a small replusive dick and a car that doesn't run right now.

Nate what the hell do you mean i am giving out discounts? The price is still the same. As for this thread I think that instead of rantis and image talking about the race between kris and image, i think that you guys should just race and get it over with.

So you are bitching like a little girl that he won't race you and then when he says he will you say you can't? Get your story straight. Don't talk poopy and call somone out if you don't even have a car to run with.

Tell you Mustang buddy to go to Cordova Sunday and he can have his rematch. The money is up to Kris.

Do you have short term memory loss or did you just miss the fact that he said he would race anyone on Sunday? Sounds to me he is willing, just not on your terms and when you feel you are good and ready. You missed your shot bud.

You don't like going to the track? What were you doing there with your car last year then? Sandbagging?

No where in this thread did you say you wouldn't be there, so don't say he might have known, because he didn't.

All in good time Jason, you'll get yours. Just don't go around bitching about how he won't race you when you want to. He'll race you when he's good and ready and you can race him when you are good and ready. Got it. wink.gif

Hahaha...you guys are rediculous!

Image...all you have to do is put an 'NT' on your car at the track and they wont display your time. Besides any V8 getting beat by even one 4 cylinder import makes them all look bad. So getting beat by the entire serious acceration concious 10% makes it even worse. laugh.gif
