1992 Eagle Talon TSi FWD
-about to turn 156,000 miles, but the engine was juilt rebuilt from the head up 2k miles ago, new timing belt, valves, you get the idea -turbo is the same size as stock with only 12,000 miles on it -tires are brand new Dunlop Sport A2's, typically the front has a little less tred than rear, but not much less -infinity 10inch sub -reverse glow gauges -painted interior (see my profile for pictures) paint on the outside is in decent shape, hood is a little faded minor flaws in the body, but what do you expect, its nothing major, just a couple very small dents I'm just considering selling it, wondering if there is any interest in it. It is currently my daily driver and I love it to death. I don't really want to or have a need to sell it, but if somebody wants it and makes me an offer I can't refuse then I'll most likely let it go. Thanks, -Dylan -------------------- ![]() |

Just to give you an idea of what you can realistically expect...
My 92 GST FWD: $2100 awd4kicks 91 GST: $2000 Just a couple examples, but I know of a few more that went in this range. It seems that 6-bolt fwd's usually go around 2k, with awd's bringing 3-3.5k. A dealership would acv (actual cash value) your car at around 300-700, and likely show you 900-1400 on the worksheet write-up. Also, regardless of how clean your paint work on the inside is, you'll likely get a bit more out of it with an unpainted interior. Good luck with the sale! -------------------- 2009 Scion Tc

Not much was painted on the inside and it was done by the owner before me who also re-built the engine. The parts you see painted in the pictures are the only things painted, it wasn't overdone or without taste. I think it looks very good myself and all goes together well.
Your pricing estimates sound right to me but I was hoping for a little bit more with a solid engine, tranny, turbo, and brand new tires. -------------------- ![]() |

being an automatic and have 156,000 miles i'd say more in the $1200 range even with a good motor is a more than fair price.
most wouldn't even touch it for less than $1000. and it has no performance mods. -------------------- famous last words.... " hey guys, WATCH THIS!!!!!" followed shortly thereafter by the the phrase, "and then the cops showed up"

I had my Auto GST up for sale about a year and a half ago. I was lucky to get $1500 out of it.

You might want to try the trader or other local publication. In my experience, the autos tend to sell better to the general public than the enthusiast market.
I'm not trying to speak poorly of your car but here are the things working against you getting a good value for it: Auto trans: Not going to hold up as well for modding. Most enthusiasts just won't take one. Small auto injectors Small auto turbo 13G Auto ECU Exterior color: Teal is considered to be one of the least desirable body colors by most buyers (sorry Wortdogg ![]() Painted interior: As much as you might like it, most buyers are going to look at it as something they'll need to spend money on to fix. Sorry about that. Rebuilt engine: From your description it sounds as if just has a new head on it. Not the same as a rebuilt engine (bottom end pistons, rings, bearings, etc.) As a parts car, most of us can't use a lot of the parts. As a project car, it requires a fair amount of money and parts to start pushing the local 5sp manuals around. Now having said all that, to Joe (or Joan) Public who wants a turbo car with a little zip and and prefers an auto tranny it might not be a bad option. Again, I'm not trying to badmouth your car or run you from the board. Just that that's more or less the reality of the sale on this particular model. Oh, and not putting a price on a for sale car on this board is ALWAYS going to net you offers of pocket lint and pennies. ![]() -------------------- |

i have to agree with kou. you all might remember when i had my awd auto posted for sale on here. it had a new fully built engine, bored over .020, ported polished head, fully balanced motor, new trans, etc... car had perfect body, flawless unpainted interior, no paint fade, 130K on car, it was a dream except it was auto. it needed an exhaust and an alternator when i sold it and i only got $1500. that deal made me sick to my stomach, but i just wasn't ready to do the conversion.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. I knew the auto would hold the car back but I had no idea to such a great extent. Seem's like I majorly overpayed for it when I thought I was getting a pretty good deal.... $1,900 cash, but I was in a bind at the time and needed a car. Good thing I didn't really plan on selling it and really just gauging what kind of intrest it would get and possible offers. I'm sure if I really wanted to get rid of it I would be able to fetch a fairly decent price since it is a reliable daily driver that is good on gas if you keep your foot out of it.....
Thanks again everyone -Dylan -------------------- ![]() |

Well you have to remember you're posting on a DSM board where most of the users have access to a lot of DSMs. Reaching an audience like the trader or thrifty nickel will be much more likely to net you something closer to edmunds or kbb prices.
