Passing this one along. Saw it on another board.

I have heard that the Mitsubishi plant is holding a meet on Oct 22 from 10 am till 3 pm for all mitsubishi owners. Mitsubishi *** America and MMNA are throwing a "Come home" party.

*see new Evo 9, 4G Eclipse, Raider, and concept vehicals.
*Vendor Displays
*Tour the manufacturing plant

100 N. Mitsubishi Motorway
Normal, Il 61761

I'll try and get some more info on this one. Not sure if this is just a rumor or not but I'll contact a friend who'll know.

COPIED AND PASTED FROM WWW.ASECLUB.NET (AVENGER SEBRING CLUB)

Not that I care, but I'm assuming DSM's are welcome...

The Mitsubishi Research and Design America group did a Mitsubishi Owners Day in California last April. They had a huge turnout with over 500 cars attending! So now they are doing it again!! This time the MRDA group is teaming up the the Mitsubishi plant in Normal, IL to have a huge show at the factory. The details:

What:
- A Mitsubishi Owners Day for all Mitsu enthusiasts

Where:
- At the Mitsubishi plant at: 100 N. Mitsubishi Motorway, Normal, IL 61761
- Map: http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?a...ew=1&name=&qty=

When:
- Saturday, October 22nd, from 10am to 3pm

Why:
- Because Mitsubishi would like to thank all of there loyal owners out there.
- It also shows the decsion makers out there just how much we care for our cars, and who knows, maybe we can influance the future of Mitsu cars.

Other activities include:
- Showing off your ride and checking out the hundreds of other cars.
- The EVO 9 and other concept vehicles will be on display. Past and present ones.
- Tour the Mitsubishi Plant. See how your favorite Mitsus are put together.
- Check out the latest products from various vendors that will have displays.

Here is a roof top pic from the meet in California, last April:

More pics from the April meet can be found here:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/showth...95&page=1&pp=15

And the flyer for the event can be found here:

Sounds like a good time. If I don't have any 'wife-made' plans, I'll go.

The folks doing the caravan are trying to get surrounding-area Evos to Schaumburg the night before for a get-together. Then cruise to the plant the day of. Sorry if I wasn't clear - AND CHECK YOUR VOICEMAIL! =)

Shaumburg's a bit of a drive and the wrong direction at $3 a gallon, but I'm still planning on hitting the plant. Got the voicemail, I'll give you a call when I can find a free minute at work.

there are about a half a dozen guys coming up from STL off of 3Si and dave and i were thinking about having a keg and BBQ here after the meet. our house isn't very big but we figured we could move the cars out the garage and have most everyone hang out in there or in the yard. there is a hair salon across the street from out place so parking shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as they are closed by the time everyone arives. if anyone wants to bring a side they are more than welcome. also toying with the idea of organizing a cruise that night but that all depends on how much of the keg is left smile.gif.

Every year for the last 6 years the 3 gen crowd has a day very similar to this. It is called Back To Normal. It is for the 3g eclipse, 2g stratus and 99+ galant. Usually we all meet at the factory around noon on a the friday of Memorial Day weekend. We tour the factory and have photo shoot infront of the factory. Then on Saturday we have a show and shine competition. We all stay at the same hotel and make it into an all weekend drunken bash. BTW, I got a nice back pack given to me by MMCA. biggrin.gif

I don't want to sound like a dumnass, But I have a Eagle. I am excited about going and have made plans to do so. I also know that Mitsubishi and Dodge owned Eagle. And that's why I ask this question. Can I go to this beings I own a Eagle?

Thanks, Bud!

Your "Eagle" is identical to the Laser and the Eclipse. They all rolled off that assembly line in Normal. The only thing different is the trim and badging. I'm sure you're more than welcome.

i will be going with my laser and my roommate will be bringing his dodge... you will be fine.

as an update... some of the 4g63 guys on CII (i know their aren't many of us) are going to meet up at the denny's on main near the 55 exit at 8.30am. it is pretty close to the plant so we can all meet, eat, and drive out there together. and just as a reminder dave and i are still having people over at our house after the meet. we will be buying some burgers, buns, and a keg. if you want to bring anyting else you are more than welcome too.

Well, providing that it runs, I'll be there! I might be up for Denny's and the party afterwards too Jim. Sounds like a good time. I'll try and drag my dad out there. He worked at the plant for 15 years before they laid him off. He hasn't seen my car since I put the new wheels, exhaust, and all the underhood goodies on it so it should be a surprise for him too.

ttt.

just a reminder we are meeting at the denny's on main just off of 55 at 8:30 and then we are going to head out to the plant around 10. after MOD is over turbo tension and i are having the people from DSMcentral and 3si.org over to our place. not sure if we are going to get a keg or not... depends on how many people show. and if anyone wants to watch the game i am sure we can put it on in the living room for you people that think watching baseball is more important than BSing about cars.

hope to see you all there.

PM me if you need directions to the house if you can't make it to denny's.
