Thanks for making the official announcement Image. We've all been talking about it, but this thread was needed.

As long as the rest of my FMIC parts arrive soon I'm shooting to tune in my turd at Vicary. biggthumpup.gif

My new turbo just shoed up today along with the Tial WG and some other goodies! Boy is she purdy!

I'm still waiting on the injectors and some FMIC parts though. I probably will not have the car finished for this event the way it's looking.

I'm going to keep my nose to the grindstone and we'll see...

Thanks Nate, I'm up for that or maybe you could come my way and help with some assembly. wink.gif

BTW - That was not a slam on you for injector delivery Nate. I was just making a comment that I am behind where I would like to be on the project.

I'm going to try and squeeze every last drop of effort I have on this one. It'll be close but, if I drive about 200 miles a night, the Talon will have just enough break-in on the clutch to race. We'll see. If not, I'll make it to the Sport Compact Drag Challenge.

I will not have the Talon ready for Vicary Day... Still waiting on some parts. I will be making the trip. Is anyone else going from Peoria? I'm looking for some caravan action.

Finally got my fuel pump out tonight, as long as I run into no more problems I should be going on Sunday.

Vicary Day was a huge event. Almost too big in my opinion. There was a lot of waiting going on in the staging lanes. Plus they have to accomodate the ultra serious slicked-up Drag only cars with a lane for themselves only. This always means you have the slower street cars racing next to the race cars. Never many good side by side matches.

With that said there were some AWESOME cars at Cordova yesterday. Some very impressive and some just funny slow. A road racing style corvette got a little out of control and tagged the wall lightly. An older gentleman flipped his Busa off the line and did about 3 summer-saults before landing. Wicked 7 second runs from the stretched out newer bodied camaro we have all seen to 15 second passes from a 79ish Trans Am that was nearly as loud as the Camaro. Everything in between was fun to watch...LOTS of slick, race only cars.

Surprisingly I didn't see a lot of the local street crowd. Very few, but notable was the silver supercharged Z06 that could only muster 12.0's a year or two, now gets traction and runs high 10's! Cavi from Pekin was laying down some low to mid 11's and we can not forget Hammer. His little 383'd RX7 nailed a best of 11.3 I believe. Very impressive!

We REALLY missed seeing the Natedogg ride out there though!

While there I handed out about 20-30 DSMCenrtral SCDC flyers and the Track personel are all ready for us.

You have a PM Mr. Spyder.

I forgot to mention our DSM boys representing at Vicary. I was hoping more would post. Of course Black-TSi was in attendance with a new best ET. Eclipse-GST was also there. What was your best quarter mile Kris? We need to post that up along with what turbo you are running.

Taxiwardance was there in his DD SS Camaro also, but no racing.

Am I missing anyone else? unsure.gif

I melted a piston (#1)... made two passes. Was there the day before and made four passes... no 9.30's though (that's what I was set on 'kill' for, anyhow). Building for 8's over the winter.... to be continued. smile.gif

Heh...Honda Killer is just generic label for people with few posts. the labels change as the number of posts goes up. Just a little humor...

BTW - That sux that you burned a piston. I know about that all too well! rolleyes.gif We will be watching for some new numbers next year.

Don't forget to bring the Mach 1 out to our SCDC event at Cordova on November 6th! biggthumpup.gif

Oh and the best i ran was a 13.9 at 106 mph. That was also the only run i made because my car was smokeing a bit and instead of push my luck i decide to not run any more. The good news was that the smoking was caused by a small oil leak. It really pissed me off that i spent 40$ to race one run but thats the way shit happends some times. But i will be running at dsm day you can count on that. Oh and the turbo is a big 16g. I didnt think that the 13.9 was that bad considering i was spinning the tires through 3 gears though.

good to see you there marcus, and I'm definately looking forward to the 6th

maybe I can scrounge up some dot drags for the z and actually be able to launch it.
