I say thank you to all of DSMCentral for all your help over the years. I may not have a DSM anymore, but when I did this was the go-to place for all my technical help. I appreciate all that you do for the central IL area DSM community!
I guess what made me realize this is all the misinformation on the web. It's really easy to get some bad advice when in need of help. I've been posting more over on the S10 forums since I'm getting another pickup this weekend and it's just not the same over there. Huge amounts of people giving wrong information out without rhyme or reason. Just instances where you see the blind leading the blind. You try to correct them and they just prove their ignorance. I've gotten so frustrated with them that I've quit posting in the mechanical help section. Thanks to everyone that's helped me over the years and I hope to help more DSMers in the future! -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

Is it just me, or are DSM boards in general really good about not passing misinformation? All the DSM boards I refer to (Tuners, Talk, Central, etc.) provide solid information. Misinformation and "hear-say" is a rarity, and any trace usually gets nipped in the bud. I'm with turbohcar, credit goes to all you knowledgable and helpful DSMers out there.

I have to agree. I always would just "browse" the forums looking for the info, and it never failed. When it came time to buy my talon, I was able to ask the kind of questions necessary in finding the right one. I also learned a lot about diagnosing problems to the point of helping people out, and providing input to the board.
Turbocar, try www.s-seriesforum.com. they will have a whole lot more info for you, too. You do need to register, though, or it will show that there has never been a discussion -------------------- -The original (member) 007. Stop looking at me Spy!!

It's sooo pitiful some of the replies I see. Like this one:
Overheating causes aluminum heads to crack every time. Pretty sure aluminum warps and melts. Not a whole lot of cracking unless it's under a ton of pressure. Catalytic converters do not reduce the amount of Hydrocarbons. Pretty sure that's why they're there in the first place. And ticking lifters get you tons worse gas mileage. Yep, I get such bad gas mileage because my lifters have buildup on them. I've just given up on these guys. They're beyond help. If you do try to help them, it just ends up being an "I'm right you're wrong" fight. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

If you're still talking about the s10fourm, that's why I don't go there anymore. Too many stupid people. I only go there for the for sale forum.

Yep, that's the one. It's just easy to see what makes this place great when you visit ones like that.
