I was just wondering if anyone here has shimmed their clutch pivot ball in an attempt to get better disengagement from the flywheel? I'm planning on doing this tomorrow when I put the tranny back in (assuming the sheared bolt remains cooperate by coming out).

Well, it didn't solve all of my little clutch problem, but it was a step in the right direction. It raised the 'creep forward RPM to around 6000-6200 RPM, which has made shifting much better. I guess the next step is the new pedal and maybe a SS clutch line from RRE.

BTW, it took me more time to install the helicoil into the block than it did to put the tranny back in. Thanks go out to miatarice for helping me out today.

I did the shimming trick. Like you said it helped a little, but I still ended up replacing my old worn out master cylinder and the slave just for good measure. Big improvement. biggrin.gif
