Frankenstein finally made it home to Champaign. It's a woefull tale and yes a flat-bed is involved. At this point I'm really leaning towards just swapping it all into the new chassis and being done with it. As it stands, everything is installed in the current chassis. But here are the problems:
Car won't go into gear or might not come out. I've got a set of shifter brackets that (hopefully) should solve this one easily. Alternator belt not on the pulley. Easy fix but odd that it's off. Here's the big one though: Connect the battery and all the gauges and SAFC come on even without the key in the ignition. Turn the key and the starter solenoid will click but enigne won't turn over at all. I'll investigate the starter here shortly but hear a rumor it might be ECU related. I've pulled the ECU and nothing is obviously blown, melted, or burned to the casual inspection. Anyone have a good running '90 Turbo that will let me plug my ECU into to see if it works properly? Betting this'll be the first in a string of posts to follow. It's DSM quiz time. -------------------- |

As far as the starter goes, did you get the ground wire that goes to one of the started bolts connected properly? That one's gotten me before.

Haven't had a chance to look yet. Asked before it came back and was assured that that wasn't it. But I'm about to head back and check out the starter so I'll know in a bit here.

I hear the ECU didn't fix the simliar problem that I referenced for you KOU. Hopefully you haven't bought another one yet.

Haven't 'bought' one. But might have another parts car on the way with one to try just in case. Thinking I'm going to get the current parts car to the yard and just pull the jacked up project car nose to nose with the clean chassis and make sure it all gets done right.
