Got a quick and probably easy question, but here it is:
My friends RS Turbo develops puddles of oil in the middle of the valve cover (where the spark plugs reside) What is the proper torque settings for the valve cover? They're all pretty tight. And does this just sound like a valve cover gasket problem or what? I wasnt sure if this would have anything to do with the problem but the fourth (farthest to left) spark plug seems to have oil developed around the threads everytime we pull it, maybe the spark plug isnt sealing right and oil is leaking through the threads into the middle area?? -------------------- 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

QUOTE (resalturbo @ Mar 16 2004, 06:40 PM) take off the oil fill cap and turn it upside down and if the gasket on it is shredded in any way it is junk, if it looks fine then it should be fine That's not true. What happens is that they get hard and don't seal like a fresh rubber seal does. It can "look" fine and not be shredded or marred or torn, but if the rubber has become hard, it's most likely not sealing anymore. -------------------- '90 Talon TSi AWD
