ok so the 240 was in the ER the other day and my mechanic said the problem is most likely vapor lock. i dont really know what that is and how to fix it. what the car is doing is (usually) after its warmed up, under normal acceleration it feels like the power is being choked, this happens for like 5 seconds, then it feels like its being floored. all of this is at "normal" throttle. then occasionally, it will just be like total power loss, like i have the brakes on, only im accelerating. i took it in to check the fuel pump and my mechanic said it was probably vapor lock due to the warm temps and winter gas we are still getting. any info on this would be appreciated. thanks

Vapor lock can only occur on cars with carbs or with low pressure throttle body injection, I'd guess that your problem lies in the electronics.
