why is it that dsmtalk and dsmtuners are not able to register new members?

I read that thread and I am so glad that we are not like that on our forum. This is so much more relaxed and welcome to newbs that just want to learn about their car, cause everyone knows that if you own a DSM you'd better know how to work on it or know someone that does, cause it will break.
