OK. Im totally stumped on removing the timing belt. I followed the VFAQ and got to the part where you use the special tool (modified battery tie down bolt) and compress the auto tensioneer pushrod (step 11 here) When I screw the tensioner tool in it seems to do nothing. I can get the allen wrench to go into the tensioner body but not the tensioner pushrod. I'm assuming that when I tighten the tensioner tool that it is supposed to have some sort of effect on the tensioner push rod? It doesnt really seem to have any at all. Does anybody have any suggestions for removing\installing a timing belt? Most of the head pull has gone super smooth except for this one step. Also, I have no balance shafts so im not concerned with removing the balance shaft bolts. Thanks again!

Mark

I told you to do that last week...What are you doing brotha?

I was just unclear on what the VFAQ said and Remeber Rob telling me something about a vice so I was confused. It also has been raining and the car is outside so when it rains I have to keep the hood closed and the car covered so I dont get water inside the motor. I'll unbolt that tensioner as soon as I get a ain free day. smile.gif I'm also not in a huge hurry as I'm waiting for the new turbo and a bunch of gaskets. Thanks guys!
