I run an extruded core tube and fin top to bottom flow design. The tube and fin design is supposedly more efficient at cooling the air, whereas the bar and plate flows better and sees less pressure drop.
According to Corky Bell's Maximum Boost the top to bottom flow is slightly more efficient at cooling the air depending on design. It also sees significantly less pressure drop due to the fact that they run many shorter tubes vs. the fewer longer tubes that the side to side flow IC's run. |
