OK. So I got the car all back together and It wont start. I'm pretty sure that I have the timing belt put back on as I followed the haynes manual and all of the timing marks matched up. I rotated the crank like it said 6 full turns and they still matched up perfectly. I checked over everything and all of the vaccuume lines and electrical plugs are back in. I was super careful to lable everything and put it back where it came off of. I tripple checked the spark plug wires. Now I go to start the car and It turns over but nothing. I took the CAS off and made sure that it was inserted into the cam properly tried again and nothing. Now the battery is dead and im letting it charge again. Will the car not start if the CAS is off enough? Any suggestions on where to place it to begin the timing process? Thanks in advance!

QUOTE (KOU In3 @ May 17 2004, 03:28 AM) It's a late reply here but leaving the power transistor plug off can produce the same results. If your tensioner doesn't fix the problem, don't forget to check for spark as well. Power Transistor plug is one of the ones behind the motor that plug in below the coil packs? If so they are both plugged in. I was gonna check spark next. I'm not even gonna try to start the car until I have that new tensioner on there! It would be a shame to have to pull the new head because I bent some valves just to reinstall the old one that I didnt need to pull in the first place! HAH! Justin- Take the top t-belt cover off and pull up on the belt below the exhaust cam gear. You can barely wedge your hand in there to pull up on it, but if it feels loose chances are that your tensioner is bad. I found several threads on dsmtuners.com where people were having noise that sounded like HEAVY lifter tick or valvetrain noise and it turned out to be a bad tensioner. I'll post if this fixes my problem! Thanks again guys! -------------------- 2003 Mustang GT
