so.. today a friend of mine has convinced me that if you wanted to put a 4g63 engine into my car... which is a eclipse RS that all you would have to do is move one motor mount.... can anyone tell me otherwise or anything?

Two thoughts.

1) Have you considered a rebuild?
2) Have you checked the local yards for a used engine?

Then, run a blue book on your car and see if the cost of repair will be worth it compared to the worth of the car.

Conversions can be done but they really aren't cost effective. By the time you add in the parts and then the labor of it all it can really stack up.

A conversion is going to run you costs for a motor, tranny, ECU, wiring harness, etc. Basicly a wrecked donor car. Then a LOT of shop time while it's put together. Then some time ironing out the kinks. Sounds like a fun time and I'd do it for fun if it was my car and I had the time. But you'd be looking at ~$2500 at least all in by the time you paid for labor and fab work.

What are your plans for the car? Getting it back on the road and simple A to B transportation, or more? Is down time an issue?

Sorry for the long post.
