Just wondering if anyone on here is going to be at the Battle in Joliet on Sept. 18th and 19th? I've always had a great time, and it gets better every year!

A lot of us went to the 'Battle' a couple years ago and it was a good time. The awdnot2 crew goes every year. There are a ton of cars and people that go compared to other import events other than NOPI. Plus any car can run as long as it meet's the tech inspection which is quite a bit more stringent than Cordova. The number of people and cars makes the lines long and the number of runs few.
Oh yeah and I would say a majority of the cars there run between 15-18 seconds. The part where they run these slow classes seems to take for ever and it is ...well boring so we would just go roam around the stands and check out the other cars. I like the locally hosted test & tune events like the Sport Compact Drag Challenge, Slo Pny Drag Day and Vicory Day because they seem to attract people that are more seious about performance than anything else even if they aren't that fast yet. There's not a lot of glam to get in the way of the true intent of racing at the smallerr events. This also allows some racers to get in between 20-30 runs at some events!
