Need a 2G GST transmission!
Alright, my car broke down in the middle of Veteran's tonight. Anyone know of a place to buy a good-used transmission for the 2G GST? Also, how much will it cost to install?? Thanks in advance... |

QUOTE (turbohcar @ Dec 19 2004, 09:42 AM) Justin, the most obvious differences between the 2G and 1G trans are the bell-housings and motor mounts. On the 2G the bellhousing is in a different shape/pattern so that it bolts up to the 7 bolt block. That's why when doing a 1G in a 2G swap you have to switch bellhousings. The front motor mount on the 2G are on the transmission. On the 1G, they are on the motor. You can put a 2G transmission in a 1G (w/ swapped bellhousings) but you can't vice versa. True on the motor mounts... not so on the bell housing. 6-bolt and 7-bolt 1g and 2g all have the same bolt pattern for the bell housing to block bolts. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....
