So today, im cruisin along, Bam, no power stearing and my battery light flicks on. I lost the alternator belt obviously. But thats not it, I parked the car, and all of a sudden i notice an extremely loud and fast Ticking noise, definitly not your usual lifter tick, coming from the head. I'm going in to evaluation mode right now to figure it out and am seriously stumped. Enless its a lack of oil (which i havent check as it was to dark at the time), i dont know. Also, i noticed when i stepped of the car when i parked it, it smelled a bit like antifreeze, i popped the hood, and sure enough it was a stronger odor. Any ideas fellas?

sound like you water pump went out and may have done some thing to the timing belt. Wether it be a tensioner, or a chunk of somthing got into the timing belt and made one of you cams jump time. Anyway, it sounds like you water pump is locked up.

All of that and I don't know what I want to do next. |
