So it seems like I'm hitting fuel cut more these days. I used to only get it when the engine was cold and I got on it hard, once the engine warmed up, it was fine. It's definately fuel cut...hits a brick wall!

So I did some researching and I guess the first thing I'll do is a boost leak test tonight, bought the fittings at lunch today.

If I don't have any boost leaks, what are my options?

A few I found where:
1- Hack the MAFT, removing the lower honeycomb. I guess this just delay fuel cut. But from what I read the idle can go to hell and you can get problems going lean because of the unmetered air.

2-GM MAFT translater, I like the option but $200-300 isn't readily avaliable right now. Some tuning availablity is nice though. I'd have to cut up my Buscher UICP or make a new one to get the GM MAFT in.

3-Custom burnt chip to eliminate fuel cut. I'd have to get my ECM socketed-$50? Who's a good burner? Wasn't there somebody on this board doing chips, Wortdog maybe??

Anything obvious I'm missing to check?

Hacking the MAS will help but it could cause some idle problems. I wouldn't worry too much about running lean as long as you are running an upgraded fuel pump and a sane amount of boost.

A MAFT should take care of your fuel cut problem. You wouldn't necessarily have to cut up your uicp. You can put the GM MAS in place of the stock mas for a draw-through setup rather than blowthrough.

Like Spy said you have to have an EPROM ECU to have a custom burnt chip. For directions on how to see if you have an EPROM check out tmo.com.
