This question is from a lurkers perspective, lol.
It seems like quite a few people here do or have actually owned MULTIPLE DSM's. It is rare for me to visit a car forum and notice that certain brands seem to create a collection. Very rarely do I see somebody with multiple BMW's (of similar model) but DSM's seem to be like collectables... can't have just one, lol. So who here is on their second (or more) DSM? Why is it so common to own multiples of this car rather than just one? Or am I only reading posts from the true DSM hardcore whores? ![]() |

The first one I bought was a '92 TSi fwd automatic.... I loved the car but I hated the fwd and automatic party. On top of that it had 160k miles and was bone stock so it had lost some of its "oomph".
So I sold that bitch and bought a '90 GSX 5-speed. I'm not sure if I will ever own anything but a DSM now. Even in stock form every time I hear the BOV let off its crisp chirp going back into the intake, I get a little smile on my face. I don't think I will ever feel anything as fun as dropping the clutch at 5k either. The fact that it is still stock, and basically slow as hell compared to what it can do (boost leaks from 15 year old piping etc), I can't wait to mod the hell out of it. -------------------- ![]() |
