... pissed off - yes, pissed on - perhaps. Sorry to be here and vent.

My 03 Evo I had reflashed via Works at about 9000 miles. LOVE the product, their methodology and engineering. I had it "pre"-flashed to adapt for a 3"TBE so when I finally installed that I supposedly was able to take advantage of it on day 1.

Suddenly, Dynoflash is supposed to make the Peoria area and I get a month's warning. 1-2 year upgrade plan suddenly hits high gear. I had some cash unexpectedly so it was actually possible. I tell Al from Dynoflash I'm definitely in.

BANG! Suddenly a good deal on a pair of cams - the ones I knew I would eventually get - comes by. Bet your ass - buy 'em at a great deal with the best help installing 'em all at the same time.

Upgrade timing belt that's due to be replaced in 20K anyway.
Replace the FMIC and IC piping since I'm sick to fcuk of leaks.
Get the small battery kit so it fits and an intake.
Get a COP ignition to allow for possible future growth - I've got the cash now, so wtf.
Fuel pump can go in.

BANG! Suddenly a good deal on a turbo package. Not the balls-to-the-wall package for the strip but a GREAT road course turbo. Comes with the 10.5 turbine housing and an upgraded wastegate actuator.

Toss in the O2 housing I've had but never installed.

Get it ALL installed.

She runs like shit - this is expected due to the intake and cams - but driveable and after the battery cable's been on a few hours she doesn't come so close to actually dying at lift after agressive throttle.

Just 2 problems. One is the fuel dumping out of the tailpipe - although that seems to go away after a few more hours on a learning CPU. But the boost cut SUCKS ASS!

She zips to 23psi and BANG - this time in a bad way. Boost cut. Is it the actuator or ECU boost cut? Can't be positive but nobody will say it's the actuator until I rule out the ECU tune.

And guess what? Al ain't f'in' comin' now. Mitsu's shipping the car he was being flown here to tune up to Chicago for a dyno tune. I'm now driving at half-throttle everywhere I frickin' go.

So, call Works and get reflashed! Fed Ex there, small fee because I've installed non-Works parts rolleyes.gif And get it Fed Ex'd back.

Of course, they're down until after all these other commitments including SEMA FOR 2 MORE WEEKS!

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezus H. Kryst I'm steamed ...

Al's offered to sell me an off-the-shelf for a cheap price but I'd be without the car for 3 days - AND it won't be the custom tune I would have gotten with him here. Why would I do that? I trust Works. I wanted to try Al's tune because I knew she was running rich and this would be customized to my unique build.

And do NOT try to talk me into an expensive management system right now kiddies - seen my wallet? It's at the bottom of that stream of smoke coming off the plastic in my back pocket - yeah, that's raisin' a heat welt on my stupid white ass ...

Color me pissed. Sorry and thanks for listening.

Kazz - Your fuel cut issue is ECU related. If you get it reflashed to allow greater airflow, you won't hit fuel cut anymore. Fuel cut is caused by the ECU seeing more airflow than it thinks it can provide fuel for, so it shuts down your injectors and plugs for a set period of time.

The actuator is never a cause of fuel cut. All the actuator does is open the wastegate at a certain pressure. This pressure is held back by the mbc in your case until the pressure is high enough to overcome the spring in the mbc.
