I am wanting a good o2 housing for the Fireball. Any good ideas would be helpfull. And I want the most air flow I can get.
Is a tubular o2 housing the best since I have a header?
Let me know what you guys got. as spring is getting closer by the day. biggthumpup.gif

There are about 3 points I have input on here.

First of all beware of the cheap fabricated O2 housings out there. I'm sure there are good deals here and there but my experienced proved the old 'get-what-you-pay-for' problem. All the material was there for the $110 I paid, but the fitment wasn't quite right and the welds were dubious. I cut it apart, modified it and had Josh reweld the entire thing as if we made it from scratch.

As far as noise, the external dump is way loud when you are at full throttle. Some can live with it and some can't. Like Christian said, you can easily pull away from a cop at a stoplight without making any more noise than the normal aftermarket exhaust if you take it easy. For reference though Spy has heard my external dump at his home in Peoria Heights when I was by my parents near Springbay... ACROSS THE RIVER. It was very cool to hear your own exhaust through your budy's phone about 6-7 seconds after you ran through the gears!

Once I did a WOT 1st gear pull from a stop light about a quarter mile away from a cop in hiding. I even drove normal through the rest of the gears and by his hiding spot, but he heard my 1st gear pull a little too clearly and pulled me over for loud exhaust. No ticket that time though.

Lastly I always felt better seat of the pants performance with the external dump. I don't have any hard proof, but durring the time I was running the 14b as hard as I could, I felt the external dump was worth a 10th or two in the quarter mile. I am currently running an external dump with my GT3052, but I plan to have enough HP to rout it back into the exhaust without much worry of exsessive performance loss. I would rather be stealthy than outspoken...go figure.
