QUOTE (zach @ May 5 2003, 12:07 PM) just out of curiostity, just how big is a frank 4, how much horse will it support and what type of rpm does it reach full boost. is it internal or external? if internal.. how big is the flapper I might be interrested Since Jim doesn't get on here anymore, I might be able to help some... Frank 4 is a very big turbo compared to most others. Uses a garrett 60-trim compressor and td06 turbine to produce it's power. I would say that this turbo could support up to 600 hp. (please feel free to correct me on these numbers guys). Jim had it set up with a tial external wg, and I think he was selling it as a complete setup. I belive the main reason that Jim wanted to sell was the extreme lag that he was getting with it. I remember one instance at the track in a race vs. marcus that marcus took Jim off the line (Jim had this on a FWD at the time), but once the boost hit, Jim made up ground quickly. At every shift in that race though, marcus would gain a half car length on him, but as soon as the boost hit, jim would make up a full car length. I think boost hit around 3500-4k. Katie should know particualars as far as price and availability. This turbo would definately need a FMIC, upgraded fuel system, exhaust work, etc... to support it. Not trying to scare you off, just want you to know what you are getting into! ![]() -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....
