Here's the latest and greatest problem with the Talon. While driving the car last year before I put it up for the winter, I noticed the transmission was grinding a bit. Grinding more than it should be, especially since the said transmission was supposedly in good (grind-free) condition when I bought it. I found out just recently that it's a 92.5-94 style transmission with the stronger internals. Now, the shifter cables in my car are original to my 1991 car. Is there a difference in the shifter cables from a 91 car to the 92.5+ vehicles?

This could possibly be the source of my grinding problems, but I doubt it. The car won't downshift to first without shifting to second, then first even from a stop. It really doesn't like to shift to second at high RPMs and sometimes doesn't like to go to third. I do have the aluminum shifter bushing inserts on the cables and the shifter plate. Supposedly, the history is the reason this transmission came out was due to some hydraulic issues, not because it needed rebuilt.

Currently, I've got a modified/welded clutch pedal, ACT 2600 pressure plate, ACT street disk, Mitsu TOB, new clutch fork, shimmed washer ball fix, new slave cyl., new master cyl., stainless clutch line, and extended slave cyl. rod. Even with all that, it still takes the extended slave cyl. rod to make the clutch disengage at the proper height. Disengagement isn't an issue, pedal height is perfect.

Thanks

Yep, that's the one. I'll give Josh a call here before long, but I've got to get the car running first.
