What do you do when you get to the line? I figured maybe this thread would help some of us that haven't had much experience at the strip.
Me? The first time I was there I redlighted off the line because I wasn't holding the brake on. Second time I came to the line and held the e-brake on slightly, just enough to keep the car from rolling. So, it goes like so: roll up to the light, stage, clutch-in, e-brake slightly on, bring the rev's up and wait. Now, because of this I had to simultaneously release the e-brake and let out on the clutch. This year I've got a 2-step so that makes the throttle a little easier to manage. Any secrets you can share about trying to keep the car from rolling through the lights would be beneficial. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

I am interested as well.
I had the problem of releasing the clutch at launch. Everytime I dropped the clutch it would fall to 1500 rpms. Now my thought is, I was unconciously lifting on the throttle. So on my last run I made sure I didn't lift on the throttle, But I burnt my clutch up. I was also launching at 4500-5000 rpms. -------------------- |
