hey all... I have found some door speakers for the GSX... they seem to match the rest of the Blue and stainless scheme that I have been really shooting for here... I have them physically in the car and electrically hooked up... but the problem is that the install looks like shit... who has done this kind of work and what can we do about it.

Ben mount those on the outside of the door panel. Then put the cover on it. It should work that way. And you also have a little more support for the door panel with the screws that you will use.

That is the only idea I can come up with other than cutting the door panel. Or making a special plate that will push the speaker forward. So that it fills the hole. You can make that plate out of OSB. I think that is what it is called, it has been a while since I have done an install like that.

Here is another idea!!

Use 1/2 OSB
Do away with the pocket on the drivers door.
Make a cut out the same shape as the pocket.
Cut the hole for the speaker in the right position. (stock)
Get some grey speaker box material. Or color of your choice and cover the plates that you just cut out.
Mount them in the position that they belong. And you are on your way to better looking sound components.

Just some ideas!

Thanks, Bud!
