QUOTE (treydawgs4g63T @ Dec 6 2006, 02:51 PM) QUOTE (AWD DSM 1 @ Dec 6 2006, 02:23 PM) sorry, wrong place to ask about how to turbo a honda..... ![]() well, im sure we can offer a little help. A motor is a motor for the most part, and turbo kits are pretty much the same also. I have heard that most of the DSM stock turbo setup will work on a honda motor, anyone else heard this? I have also been trying to get him into the dsm scene again but like he said , he is stuck with too much money in a car he cant sell! nooo the t25 and 14b are not what you want for a b-series motor. if you want a turbo honda, trade that in for a d series, then throw all the dsm shit on it. b-series motors are better naturally aspirated. buy type r valvetrain, have the ecu flashed so you can rev to 9,000.. if you have the money, get type r pistons, type r intake manifold.. do some lightening of the chassis, and some stiffening.. and you will have a nice, quick, rev happy daily driver. i understand the desire to turbo it.. but dont do that to a b-series vtec.. maybe if it was a b18a/b or a b20.. but not a b16! if you must turbo it, you can find plenty of info at www.homemadeturbo.com the dsm turbos are too small and will fall on their face. it will be out of its efficiency range. you will run out of boost way before you run out of rpms you at least need a 16g. which, if you are interested, mine is for sale ![]() when it comes to ebay.. think logically.. those kits are cheap for a reason. the honda kits that are in the $2000 range are that high because they use quality parts.. if you consider it, it isnt too bad.. the turbo itself is prly close to half the price of the kit, then the price of a fmic, manifold, bov.. doesnt sound to awful to me. the turbo i ordered for this guys car i am building was $1200..then $600 for the tubular manifold and external wastegate.. |
