Alright I posted this over at DSMtalk with little to no response, any of you guys can help out? I'd appreciate it

From DSMtalk:

"Alright so I was getting a pretty loud ticking under acceleration and also some deceleration so I did quite a bit of reserach on here and figured maybe some of my lifters might have collapsed (1990 Eclipse GS-T) so I decided to pull them all out and clean them along with the rocker arms today. I got everything all back together and performed the cleanings per VFAQ. I pulled the MPI fuse and cranked the car for 30 seconds, and then started it up. LOUD lifter noise, im thinking OK its going to go away after a bit, 10 minutes later engine is warm and still loud tick, went out for a long drive, still loud ticks. Car still suffers from extremely crappy performance. Takes forever to climb the rpm's, takes forever to reach full boost, and in every gear after 1st, full boost is only 7 or 8 psi. WTF???? Is the ticking still so loud its causing the knock sensor to pull the timing?

I have had this car about a month already and I've already swapped heads twice, and removed the b-shafts, and now this problem is occuring. "

"PS--

If a lifter has technically "collapsed" will it never recover?

All of the lifters I used were able to be depressed by the paperclip and flow cleaning solution as well as oil. Is this capability null even if the lifter has collapsed?"

ALso one more idea that's popped into my head is a failed rocker arm. Could a rocker arm bearing seize and cause the clicking noise? ANyone heard of this happening?

I'm about to my last resort of taking it to a shop

Good Suggestion Nate! He deffently has way more knowledge then I can hope to have some day! wink.gif Have you checked the Ignition Coil. I had this happen on a truck once and it would give me this ticking noise at Idle and would get louder at Higher RPM's. I also could not go over like 3K RPM's. This may be out of line, but if you pulled the lifters and Rocker arm and they passed the test you were talking about, I dont know if I would go buying new parts if you dont know if they are causing the problem.
