Anyone got any old school tv antennas? I recently cut my cable costs to zero with one easy call! Now... no tv. Save for the security camera feeds... which, thankfully have been quite boring.
Im looking for 3 old tv antennas. Cheap/free etc. You know how to contact me. -------------------- Need a boost in the pocket book and with your health?

QUOTE (dualdj1 @ Mar 16 2009, 08:51 AM) I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that the old TV antennas won't work with the new digital broadcasts. I'll do some research and see what I can find out. At the very least you need a digital capable tv, or the converter box for over the air feeds. Edit: Nevermind, Apparently the old antennas will work fine: QUOTE No. Digital television signals occupy the same part of the television spectrum as analog television signals always have. Any antenna technology that worked for your trusty old television will work for digital. That said, digital is an all-or-nothing proposition. Where you may have been able to live with a fuzzy or ghosty signal on your analog TV, your HDTV may not be able to lock on. You may need more antenna. Depending on how far away from the towers you live, you may can get by with a pair of rabbit ears or you may need to invest in a rooftop antenna. If you already have an old VHF/UHF rooftop antenna, it should work just fine. You may need to replace the coax running to it and/or add a pre-amp, depending on your specific situation. You can find out more by asking around in your local thread. source: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=611957 Yeah, the old antennas work just fine. I've been using an antenna on a 30 foot tower for 20 years. I've been pulling in digital and HDTV stations for several years now since they've been available. It's pretty amazing. I'm getting more channels now with better (perfect) quality than I ever had before. -------------------- 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - all options except AT & leather *sold*
