Little surprise in my block Options

With all the rain today in my 'garage', I wasn't able to drop my completed engine in. So I took the time to tear down my old, original shortblock.

I found that one of my rod bearings decided to try turning in the rod instead of turning on the crank. It probably only spun once or twice, but its still kind of scay. It wasn't knocking at all. The crank looks just fine on that rod journal, but its probably a little out of round due to the spun bearing.

Dang Eric, you don't mess around. Glad to hear that everything is working out good!

I'm still awaiting my engine but I bet I'll spend a couple days just cleaning and painting parts.

BTW- I did get my old engine and transmission out. The AWD shaft did come out with the transfer case, but strangly the shaft slipped right out of the t-case once I had it on the floor. The teel are peened a bit but not much more than before. So the Spool is puting a bind in between the AWD shaft and the t-case but it's not nearly as bad as I thought. I just think the AWD shaft retainer could be a bit stronger.

I also found a suprize in my engine... No holes! That's right I had zero compression in number one cylinder and the only thing I can find wrong with it is the cylinder wall is a bit scuffed from broken or burnt rings. The valves in the head all appear to be whole and shut all the way as well, but that's hard to tell with the naked eye.
