I don't think that guy has a clue. Darryl's transmission is for the most part stock (or stock parts from sister cars) and he's pushing 680+ through it. Show me a stock honda or fiero tranny that can do that. I don't think they can. And what's with all the stinkin motor swaps? Who wants to spend another $2k to break into the 14's? Morons, that's who. There are cars out there that can be quick for just a little $$, but I've yet to find one that has all the great features of my AWD DSM.

Heck, even the $500 "junkers" could usually be fixed and run for a long time yet. I saw a guy a few years back at the shootout that had 200k+ on his stock bottom end and was running 11's all day long. If you know where to go, you can fix almost anything that goes wrong with these things for almost nothing. Hell, if you do the work yourself, you can fix a timing belt breakage with around $200-300.

To each his own, but for me it's all DSM....
