Well my nightmare continues. After a new water pump, starter, headgasket, valve adjusters i finally get my laser running again. The new adjusters make it sound like a diesel engine, but i assume they quiet down when they are worn in. Now a new problem has happened (surprise huh). I took the car about 3 miles into town for a test drive and the timing was to far advanced (pinging) so i fill my tank up and take out the trusty 12mm wrench and retard it a bit. Get it back on the road again and not a mile down the road the car dies. Doesnt refire. So I pull the distributer out completely, everything spins fine, pull the timing cover and timing is fine. Pull the plugs, they are kinda white, and i tow the car back home and try to see if i have spark (smell gas so thats not a problem either) none of the plugs will fire. So now im guessing the coil or some type of ignition component inside the distributer has went bad. Well this is a remanned distributer i bought back in march (200 bucks) and have had no problem with it this entire time i have drove it. So is there something i may have done to cause it to go bad? Well it was supposed to be a lifetime guarentee on it and unfortunatly i have misplaced my papers on it. So my other question is i really dont wanna have to spend 200 bucks on another one if anyone knows if there is a coil rebuild kit or someone can rebuild it much cheaper? TIA
