The 2g transfercases are different than the 1g's right? Anyone know? Mine's whining pretty loud, and I'd like to get it replaced before it blows up on me...

Or.....you could just do what I did. Unbolt the old one, walk into the parts department, ask if you can get it recalled. When they tell you that you have to have the car, kindly (at first) explain to them that your car is in parts at your home and you cannot trailer/drive it there because the t-case has locked up. When they insist that they have to have the car have them call the manager over and repeat the process. After he says you must have the car to do the recall don't be afraid to raise your voice a little and make a scene. After drawing all attention in the room to you, he will be more inclined to make an order for a brand new transfer case. It also helps if you have a good mechanic or a schooled tech that will vouch for you by your side while this is going on. When I dropped the t-case on my 91 it wasn't locked up but there wasn't even enough oil in it to cover a quarter. So, I did exactly as I described above with Ryan by my side and after a little persuasion they put the order in.
